TOMORROW is Bandana day and that’s the day we take off our many wigs and wear only bandanas, in support and solidarity to those who do not have any due to disease or treatment of disease.
Many of us made bandanas and donated them, and you still have time to run over and grab one or two or three and get creative.

I admit to you all that for years and years in Second Life, I was a blogger shut-in. Instead of exploring and hanging out and poking around this virtual world, I basically looked at stuff other people made, put it on, and then took photos of it. On the plus side I went from being completely sh*t at photography to developing kind of an eye for it, sometimes. It definitely feels rewarding, for example, to look back at how horrible my early flickr photos were! On the minus side, I’m only beginning to appreciate the variety and width of Second Life now… And ah, how sad, sometimes I stumble upon places scant weeks before they downsize and close.
People who aren’t such shut-ins as myself must know already that the beautiful Calas Galadhon parks (named after the elanor and nimphredil-covered hill beloved by the lady of Lorien) are going to close for a while in August. The parks will return, but different. Fewer sims, and some possibly members only. Please read more about it all here!
I’m glad I’m getting to see it all while I can. The sims are sprawling and whimsical in a truly natural way, and I enjoyed taking a dip in the duck-laden swamps. (If you can find the duck in my locks, below, you win a small internet. 😀 )

I woke up extremely early (for me) this morning. It wasn’t by choice really. An alarm clock was set for 7:30am and I got up to tinkle and here I am. I thought I would take advantage of the quiet time and blog. Guess who wakes up mid photo editing…my kid. So instead of a nice chatty blog I planned, I’m cutting it short and saying have a fun weekend y’all and here is my look of the day. I would classify it as lazy gardener wear.

I went over last night to make another pass at shopping before the onslaught, and wanted to cover some important stuff with you to make your, and everyone elses, shopping experience better.
Like any event, looking cute isn’t going to be your most important focus. Go look cute on the last day. Right now, it’s a struggle to get in. There is a script meter that’s going to let you know if you have on too many scripts. You’ll get three warnings and then if you don’t pare it down, you’re going to get TPd. I know this, because last night in a bikini, I kept getting it. As I swore at Cajsa and muttered in RL about it being BS, I realized my glasses and earrings were scripted, and once I took them off the warning stopped. Continue reading
So it seems odd but I don’t actually recall ever properly surfing. I’ve used surf boards as props, but I can’t remember ever riding one out on the waves. So I decided to do that this morning.
I learned some things. Such as, I’m impatient. I kept clicking REZZ on the surfboard sign, and it kept not rezzing and I’d click it again and nothing and I’d click it again and again and finally I was thinking HELL FORGET IT when I moved my camera angle I saw, OH, they were rezzing on the other side of a small brush of sea grass in front of me.

Sometimes I wish I were as fancy as my avie. I’m not even wearing a bra…might not even put one on at all. It’s a good day though….things are looking up and my avie looks super cute. Now if only I had fancy places to take her.
Honestly I don’t even know if I would go hang out if there was a fancy pants place to hang in SL. It’s not really my scene even though I like to dress my avie up fancy pants sometimes. I’ve just said fancy a lot. Do you like to dress way differently in SL than you do in RL?

I started out my Sunday perfectly, in a beautiful vineyard with a winding country road. Every few meters a cart or tent awaits a creator to come fill it with it’s goodies for the upcoming LOVE DONNA FLORA event.
I drug my heavy boxes and pose stand down the path until I got to my tent and got set up before the morning sun made me too hot.
I did end up stopping in the courtyard at the center of the build at the event, just to enjoy the scenery and have a cool drink. It was about that time that I realized, I hadn’t SHOPPED ALL DAY!
