Bundled Up

I decided to go out exploring the winter fun to be had in SL today, so I had to take a bit to get properly geared up. Cute but warm is the goal – it’s hard to be cute sometimes, especially in RL, when you’re layered upon layers upon layers. I decided to have some fun with my ability to layer on my SLINK PHYSIQUE starting with a sweater from Stellar on the body, then adding mesh over it for a cute RL layered look. I think it works nicely.  Continue reading

It’s Twelve 23

My presents are wrapped, mostly. I think I’m done. I hope I’m done. I have new GORGEOUS gift boxes from Alouette if you’re looking for some. I get annoyed when I still see gift boxes that are like 20 prims. Really? These are awesome and low land impact for your decorating pleasure. I prefer to put my gifts under the tree and I got a script from Artizan for delivery, it only will give each box to the person I designate. It makes me happy to see my tree so full of gifts for my friends. Continue reading

Comfy Cozy

Untitled

It’s so cold outside, but I am snug as a bug inside the little snuggery from tarte for The Arcade. With a wall of windows facing south I get enough sun to warm up.

Of course, layering is the real secret to warmth. This lovely outfit from PixiCat for Collabor88 is not only warm as the rug that snugs the bug, but it is really an entire wardrobe. The leggings and the jacket come with texture-changing HUDS. The sweater is tentacle, so the only limit is statistical. Continue reading

My Sewing Corner

All of the women in my family can sew, or did when they were alive. Everyone had these types of corners with fabric strewn about, with bobbins and pins and patterns, or pattern paper, tossed around willy willy.

Everyone can sew, except me.

I could never sort it. My mother actually became a professional seamstress, creating home decor items for boutiques of various sorts. If you could do it with a sewing machine, or even just a needle, my mother can do it. She could sew dresses for me, just looking at the picture. She made her own patterns, taught by her grandmother, who could do the same.

This beautifully detailed set from PIXEL MODE for THE ARCADE (which is STILL OPEN BTW) gave me a chance to give Pixel Gidge a new skill, she’s now going to learn to sew.

I love things for my home that continue or enhance the narrative of Gidge’s SL. These items fit perfectly into this alcove into my new house ! It was meant to be

A very, very fine house

My House

from left to right: [we’re CLOSED] summer flowers and shrubs, Silver Birch from Studio Skye, Lark – Desert Retreat Deck – Painted, [ba] hollyhocks, Trompe Loeil – Brooklyn Carriage , Sway’s [Door Mat] international, [we’re CLOSED] tree 01D spring

I do not move houses very often in Second Life® or in real life. It is just too much work. However, when the Brooklyn Carriage House came out at Collabor88 last month, I could not resist its bright red doors and fine brickwork. I finally have everything arranged, but will be moving shortly. I thought I would share before I pack it all up. I love the house and how it looks, but I guess my four year old computer really cannot handle such an open floor plan where everything fezzes all the time. I need rooms and walls that limit the textures my computer has to handle, so I will be on my way to a more traditional space. That is totally a reflection of my computer’s age and is no criticism of the house – which is gorgeous, very, very gorgeous.

My outdoor decor is pretty limited, just a few shrubs and bushes from We’re Closed, a couple trees and the gorgeous deck from Lark that was released at The Liaison Collaborative a few month’s back.

And Then I Cursed Barnesworth Anubis

Of course the moment I got my house finished, I got it done and settled the way I wanted it, Barnesworth Anubis had to release a NEW house at Collabor88 that I could not resist.

So that was that. I’ve moved. And now I must live with the aftermath of moving. Continue reading

At Days End – Uber Tea

If you’re like me, at the end of your pixel day you don’t feel like cooking usually. I strip down into my comfy lingerie and boudoir heels and just have  a cup and maybe a cookie or ten. Maybe a wee sandwich. There is not reason I can’t be civilized in my pixel life, and now you can too.

Molly’s Tea set will be available TOMORROW at UBER from Cheeky Pea. I’m showing off the SPRING colors but she’s also releasing a set in beautiful fall colors.  Continue reading
