This month’s theme for Collabor88 is Safari and Baiastice’s offerings are stylishly on point – taking inspiration from African fabrics and textures and colors but making something new  with it. Her skirts and tops are irresistible and should be kept as great mix and match pieces.  The top in particular will be a great one for layering as it skims close to the body.

I have wandered all of Hair Fair and have been busily sorting my purchases and promotional copies by style. This is a slideshow of some of the short styles. I have more short cuts that I will be showing you soon, along with long styles, braids and ponie, updos and hair with hats or other embellishments. As always, Hair Fair is one of the Wonders of Second Life.

I got 99 problems but hair ain’t one of them…

I made it, I finished the hair fair, it took a few intervals to get through but I did it and I have like WAY too many hairs, more than one gal needs really. But that’s okay right? I’ll use them more than once right? I’ll get dressed up and go places and show off my new hurr right? Ehh, probably not, but they make for great pics!

I noticed a lot of straight , side swooped hairs this year, which are lovely, but how many does one person need of that style? Maybe 5, or 6, I can’t remember. I seriously had to decline buying a few quality hairs simply because the store before them pretty much had the same style and I probably bought it.  Perhaps a few strands were different and set them apart but for the most part that super long, hair flowing down the front on one side and hair flowing down the back  on the other side seems to be the theme this year. Could have been worse, could have been mall bangs.

This is only her second release and already she’s working in prints and not doing strapless. That’s ambition. Hair Fair opens tomorrow. While DJing the opening party, I hunted far and wide stalking the wild hair, the short hair, the curly hair, the long, straight, curly, fuzzy, naggy, shaggy, ratty, natty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka-dotted, twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered, and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!

Since joining Second Life®, I have never missed Hair Fair and have to say this is my favorite build. The build is just a whole lot of hair product and I cracked up when I sounded out the name of the product. The stores are inside the product boxes and the creativity of the designers in decorating the boxes is another part of the fun of Hair Fair.  Continue reading →

The Real Housewives of New York traveled to Missoula, Montana, because nothing pumps up the drama like making a bunch of women who can barely tolerate each other travel together and be in each other’s company for days on end. Normally the women of New York are impeccably dressed for wherever they go, but with a few exceptions, the RHONY crew did not pack well for Montana. They were more Ralph Lauren New West than the real West. When they went to the rodeo, more than one wore a white prairie skirt. Rodeos are dusty and dirty events — and let’s not forget port-a-potties — where white skirts are downright silly. Watching, I realized I was seeing what city people think country folk wear. Either that or they all wanted to be Laura Ingalls once upon a time.

I love that picture from Anya Ohmai and am borrowing it to remind you that HAIR FAIR is coming sooner than you think. It opens July 12th, that’s less than 100 hours from now. The opening of Hair Fair can be a bit of a scrum – actually it is completely a scrum – but you can avoid being trampled underfoot as rabid fashionistas chase the latest and greatest hair by joining the Hair Fair Demo Group and can try out the new releases at your leisure in the comfort of your living room or even sitting in your bathtub. You could even host a Hair Fair Demo Party and play “I Like Your Hair” while all putting on the same demo at the count of one-two-three – hair!
