I am loving the outfit released by Zaara for Collabor88 this month. The February C88 showcased folk designs and how appropriate that Zaara release something representative of her country’s traditional, and still current, fashions.
Yesterday, three million women and men marched in every state and on every continent in the world. Every continent, even Antarctica. In 51° below Kotzebue, Alaska, people marched. In sunshine and rain storms, desert heat and arctic cold, people gathered to resist. Of course, the naysayers mocked and dismissed. “Resistance is futile,” they quote The Borg, an implicit confession of corruption. They forget, the Borg is destroyed in the end.

I suppose the feeds are going to be full of folks working out, thus count me among them. Yet, it’s not a bad idea after all. Keeping yourself centered and focused and healthy should be a priority. Rilke was right to note that the new year would be full of things that have never been. Every new year brings us innovation, discovery and change. In that, every new year brings us something to hope for despite looming dangers. Despite the many losses that have made 2016 a bitter and sorrowful year, I fear we may look back on it with longing as the Grand Panjandrum takes the oath he will break that very day and every day that follows.
Tomorrow will follow tomorrow and time goes forward inexorably. All we can do, then, as we teeter on the edge of the abyss, is resist despair, resist defeat and find sanctuary in community, in beauty, and in certain knowledge that the arc of the moral universe may have gotten a kink in it, but it still bends toward justice.

Zaara released a wonderful three-part outfit at Collabor88 this month. I always prefer it when designers release their outfits as separates. This allows us to wear the tops with other skirts, shorts, or jeans. We can wear different tops, even sweaters, with the skirt. To top it all off, there is this beautiful belt that is a perfect complement to the skirt, but I can picture looking fabulous on a sweater or body-con dress.

Dorothy Parker always knew exactly what to say and her wit sparkled. I love her quip about lingerie even more than I love this lingerie which is quite a lot.

Ralph Waldo Emerson reminds us not to look at sunset as the end, but as a promise of a new beginning. It seemed somewhat appropriate for this post featuring several items from the June showcase at Collabor88. Tomorrow is the final day. Collabor88’s sun sets at midnight, but brings the promise of a new dawn at midnight on the 8th when the July Showcase opens with its brand new theme, Treasured Memories. I so love that Collabor88 avoids the cliche themes and color schemes that tend to surround holidays.
June’s theme was crisp and clean and that’s how I feel in this lovely set from Zaara. The coverup comes in sheer and opaque options and fits perfectly over the swimsuit. There’s a HUD to specify the suit color and whether the trim is silver or gold

Collabor88 opened today with a flourish, a crisp and clean flourish. Certainly the lovely Shiroi skin applier from Glam Affair for Lelutka Mesh Heads is a clean, crisp look for these hot summer days. So are the lovely stone and silver earrings (completely jewelry set) from La Gyo. I want to dress for the heat back home in Minnesota because I hit the road tomorrow for a trip back home to visit my sister and the rest of my family.
I’m in studio today for a little more formal fashiony times, and I love finding a nice prop that I forgot about. I am using this pretty little stool from Zaara from an older Arcade release (I think) and it’s got a couple of nice clean sits in it.
