I’m having snacks and hot drinks because The ARCADE opens up in 48 hours and I am going to need all of my strength. This round is another amazing feat of must have items, and I’m super impressed with all of the MENS items this round. I need a man in my house to decorate for. Except that I don’t really, I don’t want to give up my prims to ANYONE. They are my precious. Continue reading

If the jeans are right…
Ritu Kumar, who is one of India’s most successful fashion designers, said “When women wear denim it (the derriere) must look elegant. It’s the second thing every woman looks at in the mirror, but it’s the first thing she cares about. She does that half twirl, her back arched and her head craned around. If the jeans are right, the experience is transforming, like putting on a magic cloak.” And that’s the truth!
Since it’s “all about that bass”, Blueberry should be your go-to store for jeans, yoga pants, bootie shorts, body-con skirts and dresses and everything about that bass.
If you’ve ever wondered why it’s “all about that bass” just look at the shape of that guitar. It’s bringing booty back and so is Blueberry. Not that booty ever left.
In was chilly, so I added a high-fashion leather jacket from Azuchi for Uber. It comes in three colors, though I settled on black after trying each color on twenty times. Fall fashion is all about layering so I wore a Full knit bodysuit from Sn@tch, using Slink appliers. There is a turtleneck collar attachment to make it look its best.

Color Speaks All Languages
A little over 300 years ago, Joseph Addison wrote, “Colours speak all languages, but words are understood only by such a people or nation.” He was writing about the pleasures of the imagination and arguing that the written word incites the imagination more than imagery. He also suggested that how enthusiastically people respond to the written word is influenced by their capacity for engaging their imagination while reading. I like the idea that color speaks all languages, but it is hooey.
First of all, even within people speaking the same language, men and women see color differently. Women see more shades of color than men and describe the colors differently. Beyond that, colors have cultural values that vary from place to place. There is a very cool interactive chart here. White is the color of mourning in East and of bridal innocence in the West. Red is lucky in China and dangerous in Europe and North America.
However, no matter what the cultural subtext color choices may bring, no one can deny that this gorgeous Ethnic Jacket from Purple Moon will being an entire conversation to your closet.
I paired it with this gorgeous pencil skirt from Maitreya. The skirt details including the black back and the leather detailing make it seem to have been made for this jacket.

Life is too short to…
Life is too short to wear boring clothes. So, those who know these things attribute the quote to Cushnie et Ochs, a fashion label. I don’t know, I bet Marie Antoinette said it a few times in her day, even before she had any idea how much too short her life would be. Life is too short to not indulge your whims and fancies when you can, or more appropriately, when you can responsibly. In this case, I indulged myself, but deciding to move the panniers that were placed on the hips of this dress up to my shoulders for a completely different look. If you want to see the original, check it out here.

The Mystic Blue
Out of the darkness, fretted sometimes in its sleeping,
Jets of sparks in fountains of blue come leaping
To sight, revealing a secret, numberless secrets keeping.
Sometimes the darkness trapped within a wheel
Runs into speed like a dream, the blue of the steel
Showing the rocking darkness now a-reel.
And out of the invisible, streams of bright blue drops
Rain from the showery heavens, and bright blue crops
Surge from the under-dark to their ladder-tops.
And all the manifold blue and joyous eyes,
The rainbow arching over in the skies,
New sparks of wonder opening in surprise.
All these pure things come foam and spray of the sea
Of Darkness abundant, which shaken mysteriously,
Breaks into dazzle of living, as dolphins that leap from the sea
Of midnight shake it to fire, so the secret of death we see.
…D.H. Lawrence
Who does not love the brisk fresh air of the seaside, the glittering waves that sparkle and catch the sunlight, scattering miniature sun sparks across the landscape. How lovely, then, that Ariskea made a floating bed for us water lovers to cast off and float away, dreaming of happy things in the sunshine and listening to the steady rhythm of the waves. Ariskea also released lotus flowers which technically prefer still fresh water, but Second Life habitats are more forgiving.
The Blogger That Time Forgot
Pixel Gidge’s typist has been stuck in the real life. That means that pixel Gidge is meandering around her house, left to her own devices, in a black hole of meaningless time, where no group notices or shopping adverts come through.
Can you imagine? Yesterday she brought up Seraphim AND Eloquence THREE times, each time getting ragey and annoyed with them, as there was NO Fifty Linden Friday listing. What was wrong with them? WHY WASN’T IT UP! When it wasn’t up at bedtime, that’s when pixel Gidge realized it might not be Friday. Continue reading
Start Your Day With Whimsy
So much to do today, I need to pack for a trip for a few days, I need to blog, I need to just do all my SL things but I decided instead that brunch with Whimsy had to come first. We plotted and gossiped the way women do and moaned over how we’d like some eggs benedict in real life now that we’ve been teased with it in SL. Continue reading

I remembered LiValle’s gorgeous Classico zipper shoes and dug out a pair to wear with the dress. Zippers R Us.

Get My Cup, Put Some Liquor In It
Despite my current space restraints I couldn’t resist installing the new bar from Trompe Loeil in my house. I needed “something” in this room and I’ve found it. A full service bar that works from BOTH sides – PERFECT! Continue reading
