Oh hi again! I told you I got both the short and the long version of the cute jumpsuit from Etiquette, didn’t I? Well here’s the long one. I chose the green one because I figured, for a long one, a lighter colour would be prettier. Then came the hard part, accessorising. And for that I went into digging mode in the organised chaos that is my inventory. I apologise in advance if some of the things I wear are old and possibly discontinued.
I’ve been buying hair from Magika since 2007 I think, back then it was already way better than what most other (now long gone) hair makers would do. I’m always amazed at how, with every new release, Sabina Gully keeps improving and renewing her style. This cute one is called Prudence and comes with a cat and a devil horn headband, but I wanted something more elegant for this picture so I dug up this starry headband.

Collabor88’s theme for its August Birthday celebration is Plastic Fantastic. In my first life, I would not be caught dead wearing plastic, but this is not first life. Here I don’t have to worry about whether fabrics breathe and my avatar does not sweat, so there are no fetid swamps of trapped and suffocating skin. Instead, we have the bright, shiny flash of plastic. I like the dress from Baiastice that takes advantage of plastics best qualities to give us that flirty hem and gleaming sheen. Continue reading →
I’ve had a lot of different work spaces over the years for this blog. My favorite always tends to be a house with enough space and camera friendliness to just simply create a photo spot IN the house.I shoot around the fact that my house is sitting right there, most people never know (you didn’t!) but some days – like today – I keep getting guests in my shots. The question was asked yesterday, just before SHOETOPIA opened and I had to laugh and use it for my post. It was posed as a request for a landmark, but I couldn’t resist a bit of license.
Shoetopia IS a Shoegasm however, if you’re a shoe lover as I am. Cajsa has been doing an extensive job blogging all the lovelies and I have to admit, I’m pretty jealous of her presentation skills. She’s got the tools and the talent, and her bright sunny photos make me covet everything I see. (Just like Hannibal Lecter said) Continue reading →
Cajsa built us a gym on our islands, which really feels even better than my converted bathroom for working out. There is something to be said for getting away from your life and selfishly focusing on yourself for a little. It calms me, it helps me better at focusing on other people when I get that time away. It makes me WANT to get back inside my own house and I feel a little joyful about it when I’ve put everything into a hard work out.
December is here and that means Christmas! and The Arcade! and it is up for debate which is more exciting. It’s so easy to go the red and green route for the holidays, but I resisted, buoyed by the gorgeous Camellia lights from {anc} over in the corner. I went for pinks and turquoises, think Miami meets Idaho. I liberally used the edit menu to tint my furnishings just a bit and even retexture a few things such as the runner on the side table. I know it’s a blend of modern and traditional that should clash, but it doesn’t. I think of Simon de Pury when I decorate, “Be bold, be brave, be amazing.” Why not mix modern settees with traditional cupboards and folk art and deco end tables? If you can make harmony of contradiction, then it’s not just bold, it is amazing.
Zaara released a wonderful three-part outfit at Collabor88 this month. I always prefer it when designers release their outfits as separates. This allows us to wear the tops with other skirts, shorts, or jeans. We can wear different tops, even sweaters, with the skirt. To top it all off, there is this beautiful belt that is a perfect complement to the skirt, but I can picture looking fabulous on a sweater or body-con dress. Continue reading →
It’s been a hard working fashiony night for this girl. It’s not easy standing around looking pensive, or sultry, or pithy, or whatever it is I’m trying to appear. This is serious business. Continue reading →
