Flowers In My Attic (not in THE attic)

sep21_003

Please don’t confuse Flower in My Attic with the books. This recent My Attic cycle is a celebration of beauty and the effervescent abundance of flowers. Is there anyone who is not moved by the sheer exuberance of flowers? Isn’t it wonderful that these plants have such a lovely, giving way to propagate? Of course, since I love pose props, I had to check out Whimsy Winx’s latest for My Attic and her attic does not disappoint, though really, someone should pick up once in a while. There are papers all over the floor. I was also playing around with a projector I am working on to sell on Marketplace. It’s not done yet because I am still thinking about whether I have the spacing right. Yes, it’s just 1 prim with a texture, but I can still have creative difficulties like a real creator, hahaha!!

This outfit is from Lacuna and is also for My Attic (the floral shorts could be considered a clue). Because it’s an extra special cool top, you get two versions. This top is peach and jade. The other is jade and peach.  I had to add 2 notches to the gravity on my breasts to fit it, but perhaps I notched them up a bit for something else.

Prepping for Love Donna Flora and Sunday Dinner

I started out my Sunday perfectly, in a beautiful vineyard with a winding country road. Every few meters a cart or tent awaits a creator to come fill it with it’s goodies for the upcoming LOVE DONNA FLORA event.

I drug my heavy boxes and pose stand down the path until I got to my tent and got set up before the morning sun made me too hot.

I did end up stopping in the courtyard at the center of the build at the event, just to enjoy the scenery and have a cool drink.  It was about that time that I realized, I hadn’t SHOPPED ALL DAY!

I decided to rectify this immediately. Continue reading

Sunday Brunch Quiche

jul18_004

So, I am not going to write about quiche. But this post will be a quicky and my college roommate pronounced quiche as quickie, so it has come to have an entirely new context for me, especially as she used it in the sentence, “There’s nothing I like better than a good quiche (quicky).” And of course, she said it front of a big bunch of people. Anyway, I am super busy getting ready for Love Donna Flora, so this post will be a quiche.

In my last post I mentioned that I loved this top from The Secret Store for Collabor88. To reiterate that point, I am wearing it again. It comes in several prints and they are each and every one luscious – as luscious as a good quiche.

What Can I Do In Slink(y) Stilettos

It started off like a fashion blog might. I took some shots of a lovely cocktail ring from Maxi Gossamer. I was delighted that it sits next to my wedding ring – I LOVE wearing more than one ring.

Then I shot the shoes.

And I had this THOUGHT! I’d do a THEN AND NOW OF THE STILETTOS OF MY SL.

Because, the world has changed. I dug into my inventory with glee planning to show you how far we’d come when I realized – I’d deleted them in a rare inventory purge. Which is sad, because they were really something. I’d gotten them in a freebie box at this place that had tons of free or cheap furniture and you could game there. YEAH that’s how long ago I got them. I looked on MP, so great was my zeal to show them to you, but alas, the great MAGIC BOX SUNDERING of 2013 must have obliterated them all.

So, next idea.  Continue reading

Several Shoots Later

I shot this outfit five times. Five different times. This is a grand departure from my old self, wherein I would say TO HELL WITH THIS OUTFIT and delete it all and you’d never see it.

I used to feel like, it just wasn’t meant to be, if the pics were all shite. But that’s more Presbyterian than I care to be, so I kept going back and back and back to the studio, or that studio, or this location, or at my house, until eventually I even made myself a projector and played with it until I came up with these pics. I Am An Ugly Pink Flamingo

You might not know this about me, but I was set adrift by my fashion blogger parents as a young Zooby Baby sized fashion blogger, and wound up on the shores of Juicy. There I was taken in by herd of Pink Flamingos who raised me as their own.

Sometimes, late at night, I sneak back there, to visit my secret family and tell them how I am, and all the news in fashion blogger land. They pretend to listen. Continue reading

And How To Spend My Weekend?

The bed’s made the apartments swept and dusted, and now I can’t decide how to spend my weekend! Fill it with mirth? Get some work done? Actually see friends in SL for a change? Continue reading

Teach Me Something: Planning

May21_004

I am ready to plan with my notebook and laptop tucked neatly into this fabulous tote from BSD Design Studio. The fun and flirty skirt is from the brand new store, Lacuna. it comes in all sorts of happy, stripey color combinations.

Strawberry Singh’s Teach Me Something meme appeals to me. To be honest, I do not do a lot of the memes and challenges because what with all the weekly challenges from colors, to Disney characters, to concept challenges to these weekly memes, a person can easily lose track of their own blogging and become just one more iteration of the various weekly themes. However, this meme is particularly fascinating. I would love to learn about skills people use in their real lives – and get an insight into their interests and passions outside of Second Life®.

In my professional life, I probably spent more time planning than doing. After all, there were lots of volunteers and members for the doing, carrying out the plans we made. I did all sorts of planning: planning for conferences, board meetings, dinners, auctions and other fundraisers; planning lobbying campaigns to pass legislation, planning electoral campaigns for candidates and for ballot measures, strategic planning for long-term growth and development. All these kinds of planning have unique challenges, but there are some core elements that they have in common. That is what I thought I might teach.

How to plan.
