It’s near the end of Fashion Week and my fashion hunger has been well-fed. I spent the afternoon enjoying the Legal Insanity show that featured men’s and women’s clothing that formed a cohesive collection, not just because of rich autumnal colors and frequent use of pinstripes and plaids, but no matter what the color, fabric or print, each piece captures a duality of the modern and traditional – nearly always a modern form executed in traditional fabrics. I cannot wait to show you more.

I only have eyes for you
A couple weeks ago, I checked out the Billboard Jazz charts and discovered the new-to-me vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant and fell instantly in love. I hope I can persuade you to take a listen. She reminds me of Billie Holliday, more so than any other jazz singer. I watched her performance of the old standard I Only Have Eyes For You – with her unique interpretation. I hope you check her out on iTunes or YouTube. You won’t be disappointed.
This top from Goucci makes me feel very jazzy all by itself. It has a classic Chanel-inspired shape and aesthetic. Everyone will have eyes only for you if you wear it. It comes in red, blue, yellow and black. I paired with some black and white striped pants from Coco that are truly hot jazz in fabric.

May Flowers
Those April showers have brought May flowers, which you can clearly see in the closeup of the jewelry I am wearing today, but first let’s enjoy the lovely ombre skirt from Boom that is aptly named Horizon – a nod to its bands of color. The camisole top I am wearing with it is another from Kunglers recent release of casual separates.
I love the pose – one of many I use time and again from Adorkable. I am heartbroken that Adorkable is closing. I love the mirrored poses and the simplicity and grace of her poses. However her poses will still be on marketplace, so I will keep on using them. Meanwhile, she is having a 50% of closing sale – so get thee hence.
Birds of a Feather
So I am under the weather today, enough so that looking at the computer makes me dizzy. So this is going to be short and sweet. The mesh dress is from Vero Moderno. Love it. It looks good without the shoulder puff attachments too. Really love the bracelets from Goucci. They are color-change. I wish they were resizable. They just barely fit. They are no mod, and the script only changes color, not size. But I love the silver and white boldness.
Bow(l)ed Over
This adorable little sweater dress from Bowtique is so sweet with its peppermint pink striped inset down the front, the double row of ribbons and the pink pearl buttons. However, it is saved from being saccharine thanks to a sharp, flat collar and the ribbed selvage at the bottom. If that collar had been rounded and if there were a ruffled skirt, this dress would rot your teeth. Instead, it satisfies your sweet tooth without causing any cavities.
MiaMai Makes Magic
I am loving the spring/summer collection from MiaMai that was released for AVENUE fashion week. These are great casual pieces and comfy resort wear that suit the season. With romantic florals and flirty hems, the entire collection is full-on feminine. This is the Sagi dress which comes in several print sleeveless asymmetrical dresses worn over a lace system layer blouse.
Too Much Fun at Fashion Week
I have had a lot of fun watching and lusting for all the fabulous fashions at Fashion Week and will be perched on a comfy chair watching today’s shows, too. If only my budget matched my enthusiasm. I picked up this fabulous swing jacket from Ladies Who Lunch in the Retail section at Fashion Show. It came with flats and a coordinating dress, but I decided to mix it up, adding a swimsuit top from Sn@tch and pants from Goucci.
I stopped by a new-to-me shop the other day and fell in love with the foyer before I even saw one piece of clothing. When you look up Goucci in Search, you teleport into the perfect spot, as though you have just stepped off the elevator. So clever. That’s where I picked up these adorable pants. Bargain hunters, add Goucci to your list. The clothing is beautifully made and more-than-reasonably priced. The flat you see are the ones that came in the Fashion Week set from Ladies Who Lunch.
