Dusk in Paradise

0526_002I stopped off at Paradiso, an enchanting sim that closes on May 30th. This is a sim where you can imagine meeting fairies, unicorns and other ethereal creatures. I, however, was very substantial in this lovely halter top from [NV] and skirt from Maitreya.

0526_003I love this sim, so very beautiful and romantic. I used the sim’s regional settings for the pictures, however they left my avatar completely in the dark, so I attached a projector to illuminate myself – not a face light, mind you – a projector with a light leak texture to complement the sim’s colors. I spent far too much trying to figure out which direction the projector was pointing before remembering that I had deselected “Render Attached Lights” long ago to avoid being blinded by other people’s face lights. Once I remembered that, it was good to go.

Last Day of Vacation

MY ATTIC has been a spectacular event for my three day weekend this time around. If you are ready to plunge head in to summer and appreciate the vintage styling of the pinup look, you need to run grab up the goodies.

Fishy Strawberry completed my lust for new beachwear with this retro sailor look, available in three colors. Continue reading

She Does Saucy Surreal Science by the Seaside

0524_009

I had some fun over at SAUCE, the new installation at LEA 25. The LEA sims are provided by the Linden Endowment for the Arts to allow artists a chance to create big installations to share with the SL community. SAUCE is an installation from Maya Paris and it is a fun, colorful, and surreal place to explore.

I was ready for anything in this fun outfit featuring two items from Baiastice. The skirt was released at Collabor88 this month and the top is from 2013. The skirt was released with two coordinating tops, but I thought it would be fun to find something different to wear with it. Generally speaking, if items are made by the same designer, they will be the same size and have the same natural waist and so on, so when looking for something to coordinate with mesh clothes, it’s easiest to start with the same designer. The skirt is adorable and comes in a range of prints and solids.

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em

0521_011

Kenny Rogers old classic, The Gambler, has good advice for all of us. Three hundred and eighty years earlier, Shakespeare offered the same advice from Falstaff who said “The better part of valor is discretion.” Of course, if we all knew when to hold them, we could all be rich professional gamblers. One thing that I will be holding is this adorable Marine bikini from Mag Continue reading

The Grind To The End

Getting to to the end of a goal can be a grind. It’s there in sight, but you have to keep going to make it happen.  You can’t let up or you won’t get  there, you have to keep making things happen and being on your game even though it’s so close, SO SO SO CLOSE.

That’s been my week. I had these photos done early Monday AM. I had them editted on Tuesday. But since then, I’ve been driving toward a goal and could barely think until it was done.

The exhaustion of having completed it is upon me, the relief, the feeling of overwhelming AAAAAAAAHHHHH and it shows by how befuddled I am this morning.

I just spent five minutes wondering why typing Cajsa’s name into Google didn’t allow me to send her a message. Continue reading

Fashion + Art = FashionArt

0520_002

One of the great pleasures of being a fashionista is seeking how creators can take a single inspiration concept and run in a hundred different directions. Take the Fashionart Fair from Glamourist PR – asking creators to find the nexus of art and fashion. And the result – everything from the avant garde to the regal formality and all stops in between. One of those stops is where fashion meets op art – such as this dress by cae.b.

Awash In Color

0518_004

You can count on Kunglers for bold and modern styling with a strong foundation in organic textures and colors. However, sourcing from nature has never limited them to earth tones because nature is awash in color – as is this fabulously floral dress they just released. They released six versions of the Chris dress and this seemed perfect for a sunny spring day.  Continue reading

Curly Locks of Doom

BlueBlood is at the World Goth Fair and has put out some adorable shift dresses with a macabre theme, as you’d expect.  They’re a fun and easy slip on for when you’re considering your mortality, or others, but still want to be cute.

For only 50L a pull there is no BAD color to pick up, but I pulled on the red color today to wear while I am out shopping.

I also can’t stop loving these cat eye glasses from YUMMY.  Gidge might wear glasses now.

The Elie dress from Sundaara for fashionart – a celebration of the nexus of art and fashion – is as sweet and lovely as a summer cloud.

I just noticed that Akismet has protected us from 1,671,953 spam comments so far since we migrated over here about two years ago. 1,671,953! Imagine that. Such a big number It reminds me of my 7th and 8th grade math teacher, a vicious and physically abusive bully I still hate to this day even though he reserved most of his physical abuse for the boys. Before Christmas vacation, he challenged one of my classmates to write out from one to a million in long hand – telling him if he completed it by the end of the school year, he would pay him $1000. Of course, Phillip had no concept of how much a million really was, so he tried. He wrote out the numbers day in and day out for months, neglecting his homework, not paying attention in class, getting in trouble at home and on the wrestling team and generally making a mess of his 7th grade year. All seeking that $1000 and realizing far too late and after far too much damage to his school year that he would never make it. A million is a vast sum in human terms and we all certainly learned that lesson quite thoroughly though at the cost of a classmate’s education and reputation. Continue reading
