One of the things it’s easy to forget as the frenzy dies down, is that the ARCADE is open all month. Those must have items you wanted, well they are still there. Didn’t want to pay 10X the price for a rare at some yardsale? Well, you might just get lucky with a full pulls at the mothership and after all there are still a few very good days left for Arcade shopping. Continue reading

Get Ready…
I’m getting ready for Christmas in my new place, and I’m still dithering with how to decorate. It’s my favorite holiday, ok maybe it’s a tie with Halloween. But At this moment I’m working with the Zerkalo Christmas set from THE ARCADE and it’s a lovely addition to my new home. Continue reading
I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will.
Charlotte Bronte, who wrote Jane Eyre, the unforgettable heroine who said those strong, independent and feminist words, was not the first feminist. However, I don’t think it is an accident that the word feminist was coined within five years of her classic novel. I have been thinking about feminism and Jane Eyre lately, and most particularly this, “I am a free human being with an independent will.” The other day, a Washington Post opinion piece focused on how women are expected to surround their ideas and opinions with weak, soothing qualifiers to protect the tender male ego. It imagined famous quotes as said by women complying with the cultural demand that they efface their ideas. It’s funny and painful because it is so true. It is sad that more than 150 years later, a woman saying “I am a free human being with an independent will,” is still revolutionary.

The Dying Of The Light
“It’s sweater weather,” my mom would’ve said. She would be right. A cool crisp breeze blows across Juicy and I realize I’m ready for pumpkins and cozy fireplaces. I’m ready for the oranges and browns and even the much maligned pumpkin spice. Continue reading
Wrapped In The Silence Of Distance
“For time is the longest distance between two place.”
~ Tennessee Williams
I got out my regular face today and decided to take Alaska Metro for a spin as my skin. She makes such a lovely face, I wish she had Lelutka appliers – I do love her makeups.
If you didn’t pick up this perfect trench at COLLABOR88 from Emery well there’s still time and heck it’s a few days past opening you can probably even get in now! RIGHT!? Continue reading
Taxi!
I stopped by XIN, a sim I found in the Destination Guide. It’s a seedy urban sim, just what I was looking for to complement the punk out fit from Emery for Collabor88. The outfit features a sleeveless tank dress and a jean jacket with knit sleeves.
Random Builds
All artsy random builds are required to have a piano somewhere, possibly in a puddle, for no reason at all. I like to sit at these pianos and pretend to play some wistful melody.
I couldn’t find one at this build, but maybe I just missed it. I give them points for the cat. The cat seems horrified that I have to pee, doesn’t it? Continue reading
The Owls Have It
Emery released pencil skirts and sweaters at Collabor88 this month. Both are great separates for mixing and matching, but the pencil skirts in particular are investment pieces. They are beautifully crafted as you can see in the picture below where I am sitting and you can see that the interior is lined so there is no alpha messing up the picture. Continue reading
At The End Of The Day
At the end of a long day shopping and shooting in the studio, I have to confess I require some caffeine. It’s probably why I put my coffee station right next to my door – so I could grab a cup coming or going. If immediate access to coffee is wrong, I don’t want to be right. Continue reading
On Safari at Hair Fair
Hair Fair opens tomorrow. While DJing the opening party, I hunted far and wide stalking the wild hair, the short hair, the curly hair, the long, straight, curly, fuzzy, naggy, shaggy, ratty, natty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka-dotted, twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered, and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!
Since joining Second Life®, I have never missed Hair Fair and have to say this is my favorite build. The build is just a whole lot of hair product and I cracked up when I sounded out the name of the product. The stores are inside the product boxes and the creativity of the designers in decorating the boxes is another part of the fun of Hair Fair. Continue reading
