Do You Want To Christmas?

I attended one of what was possibly THE MOST SL Christmas party ever last night. I mean, there was a giant spider avatar there dancing along to I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.  Does anything get more SL than that? The hostess had a dress which was a table set for holiday fun.

As for me? I was an errant Santas helper in no panties. I realized the panties thing when one of my dances sent me writhing to the floor.

Oh well. Merry Christmas to the patrons of the Velvet! Enjoy my pixel vag! Continue reading

Sparkle from Alaska Metro

I’m not super keen on sparkle, but I tried these lip and eye colors on from Alaska Metro which were just released at On9 and I have to admit, they are really classic and lovely.

Six lip colors and six eye colors which are really perfect for holiday parties or ringing in your new year in a festive style.  Continue reading

I’m Still Standing

Despite their sharp stiletto, standing is pretty easy peasy in these new heels from BREATHE which you can pick up for your holiday fun at THE ARCADE! I popped over to get some holiday gifts and was delighted that despite there still being a crowd, I could get around quite quickly and get my shopping done.

I love when you can get in and it’s not completely crazy town at events. You get all the fun and none of the crazy bonking into people!

I did Luxebox this month because Poppy has a dress in it and – what do you know it’s the GIDGE dress! It was a must have for me and I think you’ll like it too if you get the box. It’s so cute and has perfect colors for any time but I had to go with holiday colors.  Continue reading

Tangled Up in Christmas

Keep Portland Weird

Christmas tree decorating in real life has always been a journey from joyful camaraderie to aggrieved frustration and back again. My family decorated a 17-foot tree and I decorated to top from the balcony off my bedroom while Mom and Dad decorated from below. This would not be so difficult, really, except Mom would get exercised if two ornaments of similar color were in proximity. It’s not that there were identical decorations since there were so many different ornaments, but a pink vintage ornament next to a pink modern ornament was not okay. The tinsel had to be individually draped placed, no tossing! But in the end it was always fun after the defective bulbs were identified and replaced, the tinsel evenly balanced, and the colors distributed with the precision of a drill team.

Keep Portland Weird

When I moved to Oregon, I had the brilliant idea of getting my own tree and chose the aromatic Western Red Cedar. It was beautiful! Until I tried to put an ornament on it, then the branch sagged and the ornament slid off. It had no oomph! I had to tie every ornament on the tree. A lot of work, but it sure did smell great. This tree from moss&mink at The Arcade was so much easier. Now if I could just rez it in my real life living room.

Ridiculously Ready for Christmas

I love Christmas. I love all of the events that pop up AROUND Christmas which then enable me to festoon, YES FESTOON my house with joy and love. I live here quietly with my pets and my little baby that sometimes I get out for fun, and honestly it’s a good SL.

It’s my quiet place and my happy place and truly it’s a good SL. Continue reading

Impervious to Cold

The season of cold impervious avatars has begun

Every holiday season I am amused by our avatar’s seeming imperviousness to cold. We rush about with open-toed shoes and barely there dresses in the snow and ice and not one of us feels a bit of cold. This gorgeous dress by Cynful for Collabor88 would be all covered up by a heavy coat in the real world.

The days of winter sunshine

“This winter, there will be no voices, no glimpses, no arms. only the fabric of poetry, to keep me warm.”

“Are the days of winter sunshine just as sad for you, too? When it is misty, in the evenings, and I am out walking by myself, it seems to me that the rain is falling through my heart and causing it to crumble into ruins.”

Wintering Wandering

I went wandering in search of winter and holiday fun yesterday. I found a lovely sim – really a bit of a bloggers paradise in terms of great little spots to shoot. It’s also a great little spot just to be with tons of great little winter activities scattered throughout.

I stopped by the Christmas tree lot and wished I had considered a real tree for my own home. Hmmm, do I have room for another tree? I wonder…nah. I really don’t. But it’s fun to consider for sure.

I wandered and enjoyed the scenery for quite a while, enjoying a holiday coffee and just soaking in how beautiful SL can be some days.  It’s too bad you can’t smell the things here – I know how crisp this snowy landscape would smell, and the way the sounds would all be hushed by the deep layers of white fluff. I missed that, I’m glad winter has returned.

Today I’m wearing part of the amazing winter set from Osmia for The Arcade. I feel like this creator must have a strong love of winter adventures given how lovely the entire set is. It’s designed for a winter wander and fun in snowy, cold climate. I love it. Continue reading
