I miss the days when I would get off work and come home and GET READY TO GO OUT. It was exciting, that my day was getting ready to get started at 6pm and the night was ahead. Makeup, hair and nails would be freshened up as we headed out into the adventure of the night.

This month’s Genre showcase is the big band era, those few decades when men were dashing in top hats and tails and women were elegant in gowns full of drama and glamour. No wonder I chose oOo Studio’s Glamorous and Drama pose series for this photo set.

This opalescent Satin Doll gown from Cog & Fleur is all sinuously sexy and full of drama with the low back and the softly draping silk charmeuse fabric that is so lustrous in the projector lights. I suppose that with the dress being named Satin Doll, I should have used Johnny Mercer’s song, but I don’t really like it that much – and went for this Cole Porter classic instead.

Lots of fun stuff this year! I can’t wait to head back when it opens tomorrow and see what else is there. A few designers still have to set up.
MiaMai’s Monica Outlander has just released her Luxe collection for spring. It includes a dress, top, pants, jumpsuit and long skirt with items coordinated to mix and match. Items include a HUD that allows you to choose the belts, ribbons and other embellishments so you can coordinate tops with skirts and pants easily. I am wearing the Kalia top with the Anya skirt and chose the ribbon to coordinate with the skirt’s print. Each item comes in solids in cotton and silk and in a range of prints. I love the thought that went into the print and color coordination. Speaking of color coordination, check out the gorgeous gold-tip mani/pedis from FLAIR for Cosmetics Fair.
The Pose Fair starts on the 19th and with tons of designers there you are sure to find something that tickles your fancy. I’m not gonna go into detail about what i’m wearing and stuff, just gonna show you the cool pose props.

My entire outfit was planned around this bandeau from Tres Blah which is new for Collabor88. The colors offered are gorgeous and subtle, and this is a perfect wardrobe pick up because it’s a summer staple. It can go under blazers, and with long swishy skirts. You can dress it up or down and it’s a perfect compliment to our never ending beach party than is Second Life. Well, some of us anyway.
There were also shoes, and tights, but that doesn’t matter now. ALL that matters is this top. You see, I started with the top. I built everything around the top. The top was my focus.
