Watching the temperature drop has made me a cranky girl. I want my daffodils and spring days. I am ready now, for winter to be gone and the newness of the world to open up like oxygen to us all. Continue reading

Here is another wonderful way to pass the time – Strawberry’s Procrastination Meme!
Cold Nights and Predictable Books
Despite my wishes, the cold air returned, causing me to thank the Lindens for my fire place and making me turn up that furnace too for a cozy night in. I didn’t feel like anything, certainly not plugging into the world and talking to anyone.
I have a new to me Stephen King collection of short stories that I’m reading. I’m stuck on one, that is either predictable and boring or about to be absolutely terrifying at the next page turn. I don’t know which. Continue reading
Cajsa Fast Five: March 20th
I don’t spent much time on the Second Life Community Forums, but occasionally the conversations get very interesting. Today’s Fast Five includes a forum discussion as well as a fabulous post about SL friendships.
- Will Second Life still be around 10 years from now? Charli Infinity posed the question at Second Life’s General Discussion Forum and a thoughtful discussion about SL, its future and what makes it viable began. Are you as optimistic as most of the commenters? Continue reading
Cajsa Fast Five: March 19th
There is a theory that the more choices we have, the harder it is for us to decide. We become paralyzed by choice. That sure can happen in SL when there is always more things to do than we can ever get to. At least, here we are sticking to five.
- Neva River Sim Opening Its Doors: Neva Crystall is opening her home for visitors for ten days. If you saw her sim last year, it was beautiful. I will bet that it is even prettier this year.
- Ribbet! OK, so this is not technically a Second Life blog post or even anything really close, but many folks in SL don’t have PhotoShop and would like a good alternative. This is very much like the old Picnik that people have been mourning since it went away.
- One more Spring post: Lana Quicksand shows us Whispering Wind, a beautiful sim to spend your springtime days in. It has a great mix of landscape and decor.
- Rainbow Connection – Aledia Underby makes the most of the new Alice Project Rainbow Glitter hair, styling with gusto.
- Look #417: Alexiaa Allen’s first post in almost a month. If you check out her post, you will see why it’s nice to see her posting again.
Easter Colors Hatch
The soft yellows, pinks and greens of Easter are upon us, signaling spring is coming. Despite the snow storm that just swept across the north of my part of the world, today it’s a barbecue and socializing that is on my calendar. Continue reading
Cajsa Fast Five: March 18th
Beautiful places, beautiful pictures and beautiful clothes. That’s what’s in today’s Fast Five. Let’s start with the beautiful pictures.
- Single Frame Stories: Blur Every week a bunch of photographers take up the challenge to shoot a picture inspired by a word. This week’s word was blur and they focus on it brilliantly. I love how very different all their ideas are.
- Lost in Time and Space: Open this set from Tillie Ariantho and set it on full screen and just read through a fun, humorous comic book created in SL. There is boobage so depending on your workplace, it may be NSFW.
- Vintage Rose: Ruriko Bracken brings her inimitable style to create this gorgeous photo. I love her styling of a skirt we have all seen a dozen times or more. She makes it fresh and exciting.
- Just Visiting: Hybie Minx shows you more of the gorgeous sim I shot my own post at last night. I feel a proprietary interest because when I arrived at the sim, I knew she would like it and dropped her a LM.
- I Got a Brand New Pair of Roller Skates… I love Elle Couerblanc’s photos and Melanie Safka. I get two in one.
Thank You, Fashion For Life
I am the youngest of six children. My five older siblings were all married by the time I turned four, so they basically doted on me like a pet or just one more child to play with their kids. They sometimes squabbled over me, all of them wanting me to come spend the weekend with them. I was pretty happy to go with any of them, but my oldest brother doted on me the most. I think it was because he saved me from drowning when I was three. My sister had brought me with her to the lake but was not paying attention when I got hung up in the weeds and slipped under water. Luckily my brother was there and noticed I was missing, ran in and found me unconscious, but obviously still alive. I do not remember any of this, but the story has been told to me over and over, though never by my brother. He was never one to boast. Instead, he took me swimming the next day and again and again until I grew up so at ease in the water that I would think nothing of running out the front door and swimming across the lake for a snack. Cajsa Fast Five: March 17th
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. For your listening pleasure, Miles Davis’ Blue in Green. For your reading pleasure, there’s some real reading pleasure to be had in Second Life.
- This week at Seanchai Library: The Library turns five and celebrates with storytelling. This has a schedule for upcoming stories for the week ahead including a reading of one of my favorite poets, W.B. Yeats on Monday. Continue reading
March AVENUE Issue
The newest issue of AVENUE is up and has lots of styling articles featuring fabulous brights for spring. I wanted to point you toward the two articles I wrote. One is a profile of the store La Penderie de Nicole and its designer, Marcopol Oh. The second focuses on the architecture of Charlotte Bartlett and her home and furniture store, Scarlet Creative.
