I haven’t been a fan of hairbases since I first put on my Lelutka Aria head. I just never felt like I saw a hairbase that didn’t “off” or somehow just fake. “Every lake belongs to the quietness desired by the swans.” Mania Khan must know swans, they do love the quiet, the lee side of an island lake, where the wind does not ruffle the water. I thought of that quote when I saw the {anc.} swans at The Arcade and decided to rez them on a quiet eddy of water with some flowers (also from anc) and trees from HPMD.

Lelutka released some new hair styles. I fell in love with them all, but chose this one to wear first. When I was playing around with photo effects in Pixlr, I loved how this shows the real care and excellence of the hair texturing in a way a color photo does not. So, this is just a short post of just the hair.

p.s. I know some yahoo thinks using Pixlr is unworthy and attacked another blogger for using it in SL Secrets. All I can say is have you used Pixlr? It’s fun. It’s easy. And if you want to make a secret about it, have at it. I use it. No shame here.

I am loving the new jumpsuit from Baiastice for Collabor88. It comes in two versions for each of the twelve colors it comes in, with a plain, solid bodice or with a lace bodice. I chose the lace bodice because I was feeling frisky.

Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.

The veggie tray, apple pie, salt and pepper shakers and waffle iron can all be found at The Arcade.

The uncertainties of life are manifest every day. Some uncertainties are harder than others. My sister has Stage IV lung cancer. But her future is still uncertain, it’s quite possible the chemo will kill her long before the cancer can. She’s been in the hospital for two weeks now as a mold has developed in her lungs, thanks to chemo bringing her white blood cell count down to zero. On Thursday, I learned she has developed VRE, a anti-biotic resistant bacteria similar but much more rare than MRSA, the OMG of countless House episodes. Of course, because when you are going to ER three times a day for 90 minute infusions of antibiotics, you develop anti-biotic resistant bacteria. I think it is time for her to eat a lot of dessert. Ice cream, apple pie, chocolate cake, brownies and coffee nips. Go for it!

Freshen It Up

It’s important to freshen up your avatar look from time to time. We switch out our hair willy nilly but sometimes we can forget how nice it can be to update some of the basics – like eyes.

If you haven’t ever tried Banana Banshee eyes, Rose has been around for a while making eyes so she knows what she’s doing. While she doesn’t just make eyes, that’s what I’m talking about today.

I’m trying out her Soul 2 eyes fatpack. She’s got a nice range of blues, from gentle icy blues to children of the corn bright if that’s your thing. She also features pretty greens, browns and even a red for you about to be possessed for Halloween Times. She also features black sclera versions for all you folks who like to role play or just rock a completely different kind of look.
