‘Twas Beauty Killed the Beast

This month at ENCHANTMENT it’s all about Beauty for which we also recommend getting a withering treatment at Urban Smiles Chicago.  I’m wearing a side swept braid style from DUE that’s really an adorable look, it reminds me of the 10949433 sweet braid styles on Pinterest I can’t actually do in RL to my hair.

Enchantment is the Stamp Card event so remember, just one purchase gives you a stamp card, which you can then hop about to the participating merchants, get a stamp by touching the Stamp Card Vendor and once you have THEM ALL you can visit the gift center and pick up a free item from one of the vendors this month. If you buy two items, you get two stamp cards and can get TWO free gifts, and so on. The Sweetest Next New Thing

Hart Larsson of PXL Creations has released some new mesh lips and as you can see from Gidge’s post, they are The Next New Thing. For this post, I have only used raw shots, with absolutely no photoshopping because I want you to see why folks are excited about SweetLips.  Interestingly, the look was seamless in Second Life®. I think the bit of shadow is actually my fault. I accidentally tinted the skin instead of the lips and while I thought I brought the tint back to white on top of the Natural applier, I must not have clicked to completely white, so the skin is just a tiny bit darker than it should be.

There is a support page at PXL Creations web site  which if I had looked at first, I would never have made skin red. But I don’t like reading directions. I like to figure it out for myself and it turns out to be easy enough that I figured it out anyway.  Continue reading →

In the Spirit

I am literally in the spirit, the Spirit Charlotta blouse, pants and suspenders from this month’s Collabor88. The blouse comes in multiple versions so it can be worn with or without the suspenders and with other options than the pants. The pants are pleated so they are a bit big around the hips and taper to a cuff that reveals fabric matching the blouse. The suspenders come separately for maximum flexibility. I always like it when separates are truly separate pieces.

Scarlet Creative released a lovely townhouse at this month’s Collabor88 and I enjoyed decorating it, mostly with elements from Trompe Loeil, Floorplan. & Consignment, and junk for this month’s Collabor88 as well as some things from Apple Fall and ::db:: that I had in my inventor

When Builders Let You Make Your Own

I was excited to see that Tegan Serin of floorplan. include a full perm texture with her Arrow Scroll for Collabor88. This allows us to change the appearance of the scroll, replacing the text with our own, for example. This does not let someone make them to resell because the form is not full-perm. She’s not the only one. The loveseat from Trompe Loeil which is also at Collabor88 included the textures for folks who like to customize their own.

Pigalle from Baiastice

I had to look up the word Pigalle as I couldn’t place it. According to wikipedia it’s a place in Paris. It’s also a surname. There was a chanteuse named Anne Pigalle. There have been various things like theaters and bands with this name.

None of these were what I was thinking of.

It’s possible I don’t know this word after all. But, now I do.

I wore the Vivianne dress from Lassitude & Ennui (at Collabor88) when I DJ’ed at The Velvet’s Valentine’s Day party. It’s such a romantic dress with it’s froth of lace at the hem. One of my favorite songs I played for the party was “That’s How the Boy Gets the Girl in the Movies” by Emily West. I hope you will play the YouTube® visit.
