It’s one of those weeks where it feels like the entire world is making me wait for stuff (important stuff, life or death stuff). Bureaucracy marches on like the automaton it is. Still, I feel very, very free in this dress, in these shoes, in these woods. And that’s always been the beauty of SL to me.

I’ve been exploring fabulously strange places lately. Allegory mentioned in a notecard that the land portion of the Silent sim has been redone as a trick or treating town, complete with a ghostly house at the end of the street. It was indeed creepy, but watch out for those comfy looking chairs next to the piano… I also explored the growing (and tentacling) beach party at TwoMoon island, and things are definitely climbing out of the water. I love this time of year!

I’m so very happy that Starlust persists, and that it’s now sharing soil with TwoMoon Island. I’m happy that Allegory continues to throw uniquely Starlustian events, like today’s Monster Beach Party at Starlust/TwoMoon. This isn’t your typical beach party either, and Lassitude & Ennui’s contribution to the party are these pretty, twisted, glowy horns. Why yes, it’s another new skin (the Alien Grey) from MiaSnow. I’ve been wearing MiaSnow skins of various colors ever since I realized that she made a bright, gorgeous chlorophyl green. When was that even, 2008? I loved it then, and I love how the skins have gotten that much more complex over time. Now nothing is uniform, it’s colorful (or colorless in this instance) AND dappled like a strange lizard beast! I’ve got one more to write about, and I’m looking forward to it.

MiaSnow’s new Zombish skin is shockingly beautiful. What the hell does that say about me? “Gee, I look great dessicated” ? Stop giving me strange complexes, Ms. MiaSnow! I especially love the detail on the dry, lifeless lips. Great job! Along with the partial death, I’m wearing MiaSnow Dead Eyes and a nice frock from Milk Motion. Perfect for an autumn day in the swamp.

I don’t often do skin reviews, but when I do, I hold a sparkly unicorn  plushie. (Insert appropriate gif here.) At any rate, I really like this Cupcakes skin. Instead of going through it pixel by pixel, let me tell you the story of when I first met Rosemary Galbraith. She was a n00b, and so was I. She had a shop with an enormously long name, and when I met her she was bald and buck naked, working on her very first skin. I thought she was drunk, but it turns out she’s actually just that friendly and awesome! One thing that I’ve noticed about her skins over the past five years is that they have some of the most awesome derrieres in SL.
