I am always excited when I see designers inspired by my favorite artists so when I saw this dress by Digit Darkes I jumped up and down with joy. Gustav Klimt was a great artist and many folks know his most famous work, The Kiss and in that painting you can see those wonderful gold decorations that distinguish his work and are found in the Asaka dress from Digit Darkes.
I hope you can see the pattern more clearly in this photo. Klimt’s Tree of Life behind it has similar motifs. It’s possible she was inspired by someone else as other Art Nouveau artists and architects did the same, but the color palette also makes me think Digit was thinking of Klimt.
The shoes I am wearing are a pair I saw on a fellow shopper. As soon as I saw them, I was on point – so to speak and tp’ed right over to the store to pick them up. Could not risk forgetting where they were from. They are color change and have several presets plus a color mixer menu on the hud. I have to say that for me, the color mixer has to be bigger to be useful. It’s so small that trying to select the color from the mixer was too haphazard.
The jewelry from Balderdash is called Persistence and the repeated lines and circles also make me think Art Nouveau – actually and perhaps this is a stretch, but it reminds me of the Chrysler Building!! The most amazing thing is that the little clock face has moving minute and second hands. The hair is from House of Heart – The style is a new one called Breeze. The hair is mod so I could tint it to get my red. She did a stunning job on the calla lilies and has purple callas in her light colored hairs.
