Gidge and I did the VIP Keys hunt last night finishing late enough that I have not even peeked at our gifts yet. However, it was a pleasant hunt and 50 seems just about the right number. It was the first hunt I have completed since the Halloween Ghost hunt. I found some new-to-me stores and spent more than I should have, so it seems to work the way it’s supposed to. This is the outfit I wore while hunting – casual and comfy, but still stylish and fun.
The dress is from anuenue and has completely won me over. There’s still concern about wearing sculpties – legitimate concern about how the unmoving prim will look while your moving around. Now I suppose if you had an acrobat AO, this sculptie skirt might have trouble, but with my AO, it looked fine in all the different stands. It’s a bit short, so I decided on opaque tights – these Cold Day tights from Stitch by Stitch in a contrasting pattern that has the same retro sensibility. Likewise, the Flair flats with the little button embellishment has that sort of pop aesthetic.
I struggled a bit deciding on the jewelr before I remembered this long necklace from Cihuae! Again it would look as at home in the 60s as today. The hairstyle is, of course, very iconic and immediately brings the 40s to mind. However, women have styled their hair this long before Rosie and will do so until the end of time. There’s a woman I see on my bus once or twice a week who wears her hair like this everyday.
The Envy makeup in the new Symphony Skins Version 3 release is stunning. I love the subtle color blending.
