I love the Boho look – in particular, I love the dichotomy of so much embellishment and decorative effort put into casual wear. I love how Boho looks back to the past, but uses it in contemporary ways. This begins with the fabulous embroidered satin blouse from Muism. The texturing and primwork are exquisite and it comes in several colors. I love the antique gold color in this one..and I knew the perfect shoes and pants to go with it.
The pants are from Ce Cubic Effect and have been around for awhile. I first blogged them about a year ago and have worn them frequently in the last year. These are investment pants because there work with so many looks and move seamlessly from very formal to very casual. The shoes are new releases from EarthStones, the Troya Slides. Designer Abraxxa Anatine told me she designed them to go with all her Zaara clothes which they will be perfect for, but these could have been made specifically for this blouse, they suit each other so well. Made with leopard jasper and snowflake obsidian, they are the ideal counterpoint to the old gold and black of the blouse. You can see a vendor picture of them here. These are the Safari sandals from the Troya line.
Now, I have the perfect necklace for this blouse and I hunted through my entire inventory. I knew, knew, knew I had it but could not find it. It drove me nuts. Finally, I decided that the Deco Twist from iZa Boutique was as close as I could get to what I had in my minds eye, though the jewelry I had in mind was a darker gold. Still it has the right balance of gold and onyx and is beautifully embellished. The Art Deco era is rich with Boho designs and it’s a great match. It just was not the necklace that I knew I had which is made with black circles with goldstone centers. Found it this morning, though, while getting ready for work. It was in my real jewelry box. Oops.
The hair is from Detour and ingeniously made to allow you to have long straight hair that does its level best to avoid intersections by moving and shifting with your every movement. Of course, when you pose, it does settle in place but you can frame your shot and shift poses real fast to get the hair moving again. The skin is one of the Christmas skins from Cupcakes with the rich gold I wanted on the eyes. I have to mention the lashes again. These prim lashes are a pain to edit, but once you have them edited for your shape…wow, are they wonderful, especially in photographs where you don’t have the alpha glitch revealing lashes behind hair.
