I will only borrow the title of Edward Bellamy’s book since the main predictions of his 1888 book missed by a mile, though he did sort of predict debit cards, Wal-Mart, and Itunes. Somehow, though, I think if Edward Bellamy were alive today he would live in Second Life even more than most of us. However, in looking backwards, I am focusing more on the delightful attention to the back displayed in this top from Spice and Sugar and pants from Naive. Since so much of us spend a lot of SL looking at our backs, isn’t it nice to see designers taking pains to make the back interesting.
The polo from Spice and Sugar is made by Amerie of Amerie’s Naughty who maintains her edge by reversing the tradional Sugar & Spice to reflect her own sensibilities. Coming in several colors, it has beautifully made prim sleeve cuffs that are some of the best I have ever seen. The prim collar was a bit tough to fit and after all my fidgeting it pretty much ended up right where it started, nearly there but not quite perfect.
I love these paper blue jeans from Naive and the boots from Maitreya with their loosened laces are so perfectly matched in style and effect.
The jewelry from Balderdash, ~flirt~ and Steinwerk work well together. The Balderdash and ~flirt~ pieces being the sort that would work as well with dressy formal wear as with this oh-so-casual jeans and polo shirt. The Truth hair is perfect for the look.
This skin is Baiastice’s monthly group gift and introduces her new skin line. It’s a lovely makeup and the russet lip color is one of my favorites.
