I came to the hobby of lace-making through default. It was one of the few handcrafts my irritatingly over-skilled sister had not already tackled and conquered and wrote the book to tell the tale. I will never write any books about my own handiwork, but they are coveted as presents – especially as I can only complete a few projects a year. Still, it has created a deep love of lace and the craft of lace-making. 

That is why this lovely lingerie from Carnal caught my eye immediately. The crisp contrast between the black and the white, the many layers of lace, the almost tuxedo like neatness of the lines combine to make it an attention-grabbing set of lingerie. However, since so much lingerie is difficult to wear under clothing, I can resist a lot of great lingerie. What made this irresistible was the combination of laces, almost a Whitman’s Sampler of lace.

There are seven different laces: 1)the straps, 2) the white upper part of the balconette bra, 3) the black lower bodice of the bra, 4) the creamy white lace on the stomach, 5) the tape lace cinching the bodice together, 6) the lace on the panties and 7) the edging and shoulder strap lace.  It is inspired by the Luxxa Guipiere Venice seen here at Carnal’s real life site, but you can see it is subtly different and utilizes more lace-making techniques than the RL inspiration. 

Unless it’s in your hands or at impossibly high for SL resolution, it’s difficult to tell whether the net in the lace is six-sided or eight-sided, what exact knots are used, etc. so one can only guess at the laces in use. I know what I think are used, but can name plausible alternatives for nearly all of them. I thought it might be fun to see what guesses you have. So, I encourage you to post your best guesses.
