Death, Sex and Noodles

I knew exactly what aesthetic I was seeking when I went looking for a place to shoot yesterday. But then I got caught up in search and this place had “sex and death” in the description and I couldn’t resist.

I don’t know what I anticipated finding, but noodle shops and what seems to be a toy store of sorts wasn’t it. Continue reading

Spring at Furillen

It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want — oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
I was feeling restless and antsy yesterday morning, so I went off for a bit of an exploration rather than unpacking boxes and figuring out what to feature from the Arcade which opens at midnight. I will do that today, but yesterday, there was just something in the air. And it was something that suited the carefree and happy Kaelyn maxi dress from Thalia Heckroth™. It is made for the Maitreya mesh body and works best is you don’t bother with feet and shoes. It comes is all sorts of happy colors and if wearing it does not lift your mood, you’re doing it wrong.

The cultivation and perfection of human beings

“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.”In The One-Straw Revolution, Masanobu Fukuoka wrote “The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” Like many people, including our founders, he has this idea that only farmers do noble labor. This is all very nice and romantic, but there is an ugly side to it. We see that same idea when politicians call rural America the heartland or “real America” as though we city dwellers were inferior to them. Thomas Jefferson was even more explicit, saying working for a wage and was corrupting and industry would destroy American, meanwhile those who labor in the earth are the “chosen people of god” and the only people he thought should have political power.

The belief our founders had in the superiority of the agrarian life and agrarian people had profound effects on our Constitution. That belief extends to exaggerating the political power of rural states and rural voters in many ways. One Wyoming voter counts as much as four New York voters when voting for president. It is even more inequitable in the Senate, a Vermont voter getting counting 30 times more than a New York voter. The United States Senate is the least democratic legislative chamber in the developed world. The 38 million people who live in the nation’s 22 smallest states, including Wyoming, are represented by 44 senators. The 38 million residents of California are represented by two senators.

I think about these things when I am hopping about the grid looking for a nice place to shoot a picture.

Ordinary

I’m having so much fun setting up house in these tree houses. Despite my desire to change house constantly, which I’m still struggling with, I think I’ll do the holidays at least in the tree houses. Moving this here and that there, just little touches to make it all home, it’s a lot of fun.  Continue reading

I Think There’s A Clown Behind Me

It all started because of the ink. Scrolling through the Eloquence blog at events the other day, I saw these really pretty tattoos for SLINK bod and thought I would like them. But then I opened up the blog today to find the event and found ANOTHER event (Creation JP) and well – I had to go to that.

The next thing that happened was that Sasy went to the FIRST event (Kawaii Project Something I forget the name but maybe that’s the name I don’t know – oh there I linked it yes that’s the name) and she starts tossing me gacha extras. My old school gacha fever took hold and I started putting on everything I just had purchased and then some.

It’s guerilla styling – PUT ON EVERYTHING YOU JUST BOUGHT NOW AND SHOOT! GO GO GO GO! Continue reading

Home Again Home Again

Home after several days in Montreal and pixel Gidge is ready to spend her day chilling out at home. RL Gidge has to go to work, but lucky pixel Gidge can forever be a lazy, lazy girl. What a jerk.

Today she’s lounging around in casual separates from Fission, perfect for a casual Friday look that’s not sloppy. Continue reading

‘Twas Beauty Killed the Beast

This month at ENCHANTMENT it’s all about Beauty for which we also recommend getting a withering treatment at Urban Smiles Chicago.  I’m wearing a side swept braid style from DUE that’s really an adorable look, it reminds me of the 10949433 sweet braid styles on Pinterest I can’t actually do in RL to my hair.

Enchantment is the Stamp Card event so remember, just one purchase gives you a stamp card, which you can then hop about to the participating merchants, get a stamp by touching the Stamp Card Vendor and once you have THEM ALL you can visit the gift center and pick up a free item from one of the vendors this month. If you buy two items, you get two stamp cards and can get TWO free gifts, and so on. I love a stamp card event, they’re fun and I always end up buying stuff I didn’t mean to as it gets me into stores I haven’t been to before. Continue reading

Bluebeard’s Wife Had a SLINK OBSESSION

When Bluebeard married his last wife, he told her, “Don’t go into the courtyard of SLINK WEST. All the vendors for My Slink Obsession are set up, and I’m not giving you shopping money until tomorrow.”  He gave her a key to courtyard and said “I’m trusting you with this key. It opens the gate to the courtyard and if you go early, we’ll have a very serious problem.”

Well, how can a fashionista resist early admission to ANYTHING? She can’t. So of course she goes, opens the gate to the courtyard to cam into all of the boxes covering the goodies for tomorrow’s event.  But upon entering the area, she finds it strewn withe bodies of all of his previous wives, all of whom had the same idea and met a terrible fate for disobeying. She  drops the key into a pool of blood – only to find the blood won’t wash off!

Who gives gifts that absorb blood? GROSS! Continue reading

Hair Fair Long Hair Part One

A few days ago there was a discussion of whether all the iterations of long hair have already been made. In other words, the “there is nothing new under the sun” argument that has been around for millennia. Well, take a look, and see if you think they are all the same.

You know, they say there are only 7 plots – but there are millions of stories.
