Every once in a while you see a designer release a collection that brings them to a new level of excellence and creativity. Shinichi Mathy of Shiki has released just such a breakthrough collection this spring. With textures he developed from the banal elements and detritus of urban life, he has performed an alchemical transformation in to creative gold. For example, the fabric in this dress is inspired by a container filled with empty soda cans, cans seen from the top and the sides as they lay in a pile waiting to be picked up for recycling.
One of the things I really like about this dress is the attention to detail. There are glitch pants in the same fabric and the inside of the skirt is textured so walking, dancing or whatever you do, there are no ugly alpha vacancies. I added some shoes from Kunglers, a recent release called Celine.
Sasy Scarborough has been creating like a demon, releasing more than 30 different nail applicator huds to go with the SLink hands, feet and mesh fingernails. These are from set 27 and could not be more perfect for this dress if they had been made to order.
I wanted modern accessories to go with the modern fabric, so I wore this very modern and chic collar and earrings from Pure Poison and a wild hat from House of Fox.
The hair is from Lelutka, an updo that has an optional pony called Magdalen. The skin is called Chanel, from Fresh FX, a House of London brand. I love the blushing cheeks, the natural eyebrows and the makeup. The only thing that would make it better would be to have lipsticks on tattoo layers so I could mix the lipsticks with the shadows in my own combinations.
