Moon Love

But even when the moon looks like it’s waning…it’s actually never changing shape. Don’t ever forget that. -Ai Yazawa

But even when the moon looks like it’s waning…it’s actually never changing shape. Don’t ever forget that. -Ai Yazawa

That quote seems perfect for Moon Amore, the store that released this lovely outfit at Collabor88 this month. It seems no matter the event, you can always recognize Moon Amore for the fresh, feminine styles released. There’s a daintiness that is emblematic in every release.

I Am Going to the Max

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable-JFK

“A proper community, we should remember also,
is a commonwealth: a place, a resource, an economy.
It answers the needs, practical as well as social and spiritual,
of its members — among them the need to need one another” — Wendell Berry

Rustica was one of the first furniture stores I ever visited in Second Life. My friend Maht Wuyts from The Velvet and I would go there at least a couple times a month. We had a photo studio and it was furnished with Rustica’s Couch of Many Colors and there was that sleek recliner that offered Grey Goose martinis. There was the sleeper sofa that opened up with a mouse click into a bed. Long billowy curtains that pooled on the floor. Man, we loved that place. It felt like a real shop, a bit over-crowded and messy. You know, like an old-fashioned place that is the opposite of a mall. Unlike many stores, when you visited Rustica, the owner might be sitting behind the counter and would even chat. So Max Graf has been an SL acquaintance and friend for ten years now. During all that time, he has been a friendly and generous member of Second Life’s community.

Sadly, he and his family have lost their home due to legal manipulations they may be able to overturn, but not in time to keep a roof over their heads. They risk homelessness without some help. Second Life is a proper community and proves it again and again, a place where people can admit to needing each other. Max asked people to shop at his store, but people, remembering all Max has done over the years to build SL community wanted to do more. That’s where Going to the Max came from, the knowledge that Second Life is a proper community.

Great Minds Thinking Alike

All the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. Lewis BlackGidge is my favorite person in Second Life and among my favorites in my first life, too. So, it’s no surprise we sometimes think alike and dress alike. Our mutual love for this dress from Nylon Outfitters was unplanned, but you know, I thought about reshooting with a different color, but I changed my mind. I like the black one best, and really, it’s a case of great minds thinking alike. By the way, if you like this dress, get yourself over to Collabor88 now because it’s the last day.

All the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. Lewis BlackI don’t like candy corn, but these critters crack me up. One of my favorite items from The Arcade this month. It’s amazing how they with their simplistic form still manage to express emotions. There’s some popcorn for all the drama from Lost Junction and a fun plastic table and stools from PLAAKA – all at The Arcade.

Bikini Babes of Collabor88

I love summer in SL. Even though summer is actually available to us always and never has to stop, I’ve realized I need to embrace the seasons there and make them special.

Thus – summer joy is upon me when I saw these great bikinis out for the offering at Collabor88 this month. I’ve never been a “bits hanging out girl” despite the appeal that some of those seem too have for SL. I like a bit more tradition and these bikinis fit the bill for me.

Probably my favorite thing is that you can mix up the colors on the bits of them to change your look, coordinate with your hair, whatever suits your fancy. Personally I was in a pink and purple mood today, can you tell?

I’ve been a bit MIA lately because now and again life gets in the way, but here I am, like the bad penny.

I always turn up.

Get over to the July round of Collabor88 and check out what’s new and awesome. You won’t be sorry.

If Life Gives You Bandanas, Make Bandanda Day

Bandana Day @ Hair Fair 2017

Lelutka’s Bandanda Day contributions to Hair Fair are always a work of art. Bandana Day is always the last day of Hair Fair to remind us, after celebrating our crowning glory for two glorious weeks, that sometimes people lose their hair for a host of reasons. The purpose of Hair Fair, despite how we may feel, is not just about making us look good, it’s about prompting us to do good with our shopping dollars, to raise money for Wigs For Kids. So Bandana Day is a reminder, there’s a more serious underlying purpose than just making us look good.

Hair Fair Is Almost Over But Collabor88 Is Full Throttle

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.

Only one more day of Hair Fair, one more day to find gorgeous hair and raise money for Wigs for Kids. This blog will show a few of the EnVOGUE hairs for the designer I profiled earlier today. I will also show of the fun outfit from Hucci that makes me thing I should try salsa dancing. Other highlights are some fun sandals from Pure Poison and crazy bold earrings from Mon Cheri – all at Collabor88. I will let the photos speak for themselves.
