Weekends Are For Sleeping In

Avatars need to sleep in too. It’s busy work shopping and getting dressed, and going shopping again. Taking pictures too, and blogging, these things all make a weekend a well deserved break for a pixel girl. I changed the texture on my bed from Ispachi. I love this bed. Continue reading

My SLINK Obsession: CHARLI from Adam N Eve

My SLINK OBSESSION has opened at SLINK WEST for another round and Adam n Eve has released a lovely skin called CHARLI with appliers for VISAGE. Sachi makes such lovely, very unique faces that I thought I would show you how it looks with and without the head.

Left is regular old Gidge wearing the base skin.  It’s a really pretty look. Right is me wearing the BECKY Visage head, with the appliers, I’ve added some pretty makeup colors and moles !  Continue reading

The Colors of Fall

141025_006b

Autumn has been painting its palette all across Second Life for the past month. I stopped by Izzie’s because it is always one of the most beautiful seasonal sims and sure enough, Izzie’s portrait of autumn is beautiful. In fact, it’s so lovely, I decided to use a paint filter on one of my snaps to turn it into a painting. If you stop by Izzie’s, don’t touch the kitty, she is shy.

Crashy McCrasherton

141021

So I have been crashing every single time I saved a picture to disk for the last two days, perhaps some new incompatibility arose from upgrading my OS to Yosemite. I will have to figure it out soon, but I didn’t feel like trouble shooting today, so I just save the photos direct to Flickr®. That means these are truly raw photos, not even cropped. I just set the size of the frame inworld and clicked until I got the shot I wanted and so what you see is what you get. As to why it crashes saving to disk but not to Flickr, those are the mysteries of computers and graphics cards and code.

Vintage Is Cool or I Saw My First Flasher at the Vintage Store

121020_001

I have always like vintage clothing, particular that from the 40s and 50s when clothing was structured and fitted with sophisticated glamour the aesthetic goal designers had in mind. The Vintage and Cool event currently going on seems made for me. People were coming out of the austerity of the Thirties and the World War and the expanding economy and growing middle class allowed for a real explosion of fashion. This lovely dress from AVALE fits firmly in that tradition.

All About that Bass

1016_004

I do not pay a lot of attention to the Hot 100 as most of the songs recently seem to have Idol-itis – overproduced and full of melisma. However, someone on plurk mentioned having All About that Bass stuck in her head so I was curious and listened to it. I was surprised by its retro doo woo sound and was happy that such a positive body image song was leading the charts. Pop music popularity is dominated by the tweens, so the song’s popularity makes me optimistic about “kids today.”

Morning Are Complicated

Pixel Gidge has luxurious, beautiful mornings every day. I think this is because my own RL mornings are the opposite of hers.  As I stumble through the chaotic, wrinkled messy world that is RL I juxtapose SL Gidge’s morning when I blog – sitting it opposite my own.

The more peaceful and lovely her morning, make that the opposite for me. Continue reading

I Am Not Made To Be A Supermodel

Some of us just don’t do sultry well. I can try all I like to pose and pout but really the girl inside me is doing this…

For no better reason than “I can”.

SLINK released new bikinis and thongs for us island dwellers in SL and I was happy to spend my day in the m yesterday, enjoying the surf and sand. Continue reading

Such Spoopy * Much Versatile * So Romance

141009

Today I am wearing a versatile dress from Tee*fy. I love that it has options for the bodice. You
can wear the dress with the spaghetti straps alone or, as I did, add the optional harness. There are also lace cap sleeves you can add that slide right under the straps for a touch of romance. It has a fitted bodice with a mesh midriff. Christian Siriano says mesh is “done” but not if it looks as good as this. It is a great take on the Hotel Spoopy theme for October’s Collabor88.
