I’m out for adventure today and decided that I wanted some sort of Safari adventure to happen. I found an interesting build which promised animals I could ride and lots of scenery but I got stuck in how cute the landing area was and took a bunch of photos there. There is something to be said for a nice vignette, isn’t there?

I have these new shoes from Ingenue – who is my go to for all shoes – and they are perfect for exploring on a hot day! They’re sneakers! They’re sandals! They’re comfy and perfect and exactly what I needed for wandering this safari landscape today.

I also decided that the time was RIGHT for me to check out Equal 10 and honestly, that event had some great things – not sure why I don’t frequent it more? Really cute things there were going on from folks I was NOT that familiar with. One brand I am very familiar with and a fan of was ChicChica who truly makes some of my favorite foodie things on the grid. It’s fun fun – all of her food is a pretty as it is delish.

She had this corn dog for sale and I tested the demo to check it out and of course – CUTE. I forgot I had it on when I ran off to take pics. So of course, I had a corndog on safari.

I mean it’s a demo corndog. But that doesn’t make it any less delicious. I’m going to have to go back and buy the set, I feel guilty being one of those bloggers who wears the demos only! We all know that’s not cool.

But, it was still delicious. Much love to Lilo for her long lasting foodie things.

There are stores, around the grid, where you can’t just buy one item, you just have to fatpack the whole thing. Blueberry usually has a style that’s way too sexy for my taste, but whatever she releases, even the things I wouldn’t wear, are impeccably made. The mesh is flawless, the textures gorgeous. Her latest release, In Control, is no exception, and covers enough skin that I can feel comfortable wearing it. It comes with a choice of trousers or short skirt, a top that can be lacy-see through or plain (obviously I chose plain), a blazer jacket, and it even offers shoes but I opted for a pair of maxi heels from Reign. Look at me being all working girl!

Oh hi again! I told you I got both the short and the long version of the cute jumpsuit from Etiquette, didn’t I? Well here’s the long one. I chose the green one because I figured, for a long one, a lighter colour would be prettier. Then came the hard part, accessorising. And for that I went into digging mode in the organised chaos that is my inventory. I apologise in advance if some of the things I wear are old and possibly discontinued.

I’ve been buying hair from Magika since 2007 I think, back then it was already way better than what most other (now long gone) hair makers would do. I’m always amazed at how, with every new release, Sabina Gully keeps improving and renewing her style. This cute one is called Prudence and comes with a cat and a devil horn headband, but I wanted something more elegant for this picture so I dug up this starry headband.

My Water Feature

I was feeling a bit adventurous and rolled the dice on getting one of the new Victorian Homes. Despite the fact that this moved me away from Cajsa – their siren song was just too compelling. My first try I got a lovely spot next to this beautiful water feature.

I have no complaints.

Of course I only had to ride my bike a short way to find people immediately ruining the beautifully curated garden landscape.

I was too dumfounded to let the paving stones rez. What the hell is that? What are you doing?

I get it if you wanna have a vehicle. At least have the sense to put it behind your house.

My friend Gogolita is the decor police – I may have to join her in this endeavor. These are so well done, it’s just tragic if people can’t maintain the look really. How hard is it not to put out crap that doesn’t match?

I’m giving these guys a pass, they might be trying to decide what they like.

So hey! Vintage Fair is still going for another week, but I’m leaving today for a 2 week vacation, and won’t have access to a decent computer where I go. You know what’s funny? I started putting together that outfit a few days ago, and the weather was bright and sunny and frankly a bit too hot for me out here. I guess I was hoping for a little rain to cool the air. Well it worked, I was awaken in the middle of the night by the sound of very heavy rain.

A Good Hair Day

The kind of hair day we want in SL is always possible, which is something I love. I’ve got four different kinds of rollered hair. I’ve got some old JBF hair from Elika or something. I’ve got up do’s and long wavy and various curls and bobs.

Les Liasons Dangereuses

One of my favorite lines from any book is by Margaret Atwood. “I want all my hurts to be intentional.”

It’s a personal mantra. It’s two sided to me. It means I don’t want to unintentionally cause harm or sadness. Being a human person means you do in fact do that sometimes. Through your actions or decisions you might hurt another person, even someone you care about. The best you can do in that situation is apologize. You can’t always fix it, some times you can’t go back – or going back isn’t where fate is taking you. But you can be honest, and try to move forward with good intentions even if you can’t remove that thing that hurts.

Intentional hurts though are something reserved for people I am truly at odds with. It’s hard to sit here and think of an actual instance, but I’d venture that when under attack I’m not against returning fire – and returning fire in a harsh fashion. I think that’s fair too. It’d be more adult to walk away, refuse to engage. Sometimes I can be that person. But sometimes, just sometimes if I respond I know it will be with malice and spite.  Continue reading →
