A Mind of Their Own

Don't worry about the smallest size that light can be, it will chase away the darkness

The damn lights have a mind of their own. I picked them up at Collabor88, the newest release from Maxi Gossamer and they just insist on going everywhere. They’re all in a tangle and I need to untangle them before I can decorate.

Of course, if you’re decorating the outside of your house, you need a smoking hot coat like this one from Mutresse. It comes with a color-change HUD that is stuffed with 20 colors that you can use to customize the turtleneck sweater, the zips, the collar, the lapel, the pockets and the jacket body and bodice. Such control gives you exactly what you want. It, too, is at Collabor88.

Subtlety

“Remembering. Forgetting. I'm not sure which is worse.”

I like subtle shifts in tone. As much as I love rich saturated colors, I also love the neutral tans, beiges, and ecrus. The ALT Cadet Dress comes with a color change HUD that lets me choose bold colors or subtle ones. I gravitated toward the subtle this time.

Prints and Colors

Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life

Don’t Mix Prints! That was once the conventional rule of fashion, but again and again, people have flouted the rule with great success. It’s tricky and can look atrocious, but folks who can mix prints well are among the most exciting fashion designers and icons. Gia Seorn of Gizza knows how to mix prints. The collection of five Tracy Strapless dresses recently released by Gizza is a masterclass in mixing prints.

Thalia Heckroth™ released a fun new jacket that I added to dress. I love sleeves, so often add a jacket over strapless tops and dresses. The details are perfect and happily fits comfortably over a dress. My pet peeve with mesh jackets is that they too often can only be worn with applied textures or with a set piece made just for that particular jacket. I love to find jackets that I can wear with other brands.

The Things You Learn

I was out for a stroll when I discovered a little problem with my rings. IEQED made these gorgeous rings for mesh hands and she was thoughtful enough to include a little note so you knew which hands depending on your body etc. I read the card, saw that for SLINK it required ELEGANT hands and so hey I already had those on – huzzah!

Except, they didn’t fit. In fact, one ring was floating in space and the rest weren’t centered on my fingers. I’ve worn IEQED rings many times, I’ve never had this problem. I read the notecard again. SLINK ELEGANT. I messaged Cajsa, she said she had them and would check, she says “They fit fine.” Now I’m perplexed. Cajsa is wearing her SLINK elegant hands and they fit, and I’m wearing mine and they don’t fit and OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING?????? Continue reading

Can We Talk About Free AOs ? Part One

For reasons I cannot properly explain I was compelled to try out some various AOs from Marketplace the other day. I decided that given the fact that decent AOs can be expensive AF that maybe, maybe I’d find a gem or two on MP. You never know.

For today’s experiment I’m not using vids – which I should have but RL is making it impossible ATM so I think I will experiment with shooting short vids of the AOs next time around and if so I’ll include this one.

I’m starting out with THIS ONE – MIA PRIMA.

Let’s start with things that are good: Continue reading

Easier Than Raptors

I’m trying to assert my dominance over the local reindeer but so far I’ve only got one willing to work with me here.  Even so, one is better than none. I just wish the one blocking my mailbox would move his big butt.  Continue reading

Black Friday

I don’t believe in Black Friday. I can’t imagine withholding my need to buy whatever I want for one day a year. I believe firmly in wanton consumerism 365 days a year. I want everything.  So I am an anomaly and don’t shop madly on Black Friday.  Continue reading

The More I Love Gatsby

Sometimes it’s the revisiting of words you’ve glossed over that reveals nuggets you hadn’t previously divined. You spin the words through your brain, and one time across them is different than the others. What’s changed? Not the words. The words are the same. But something in you caused them to give up a greater meaning than the last time you passed them by. Continue reading

Rise and Shine

This is my face every morning when I have to wake up.  Waking up doesn’t agree with me. I like going out and doing things but ugh the waking up part isn’t for me.  Continue reading

Gacha Got Me

Good morning girls, glad you popped by. I have so many new goodies this morning that I’m about to pop! I stopped over to the Gacha Garden event and oh dear I was one of those people! I was pulling and pulling and pulling – because I wanted the ding dang bed from this set from Sallie.  Continue reading
