Pixel Gidge Had a Busy Day

Pixel Gidge started her day with lots to do. FLF is today, and in addition to that I realized I had to get decorating for Thanksgiving. The temperatures had dropped here on Juicy so I had to snuggle up into some cozy cold weather clothes from FISSION. It’s a perfect turtleneck sweater for chilly days. Continue reading

The Blue And The Gre…en

It’s a blue and green kind of day. I’m sporting new cute stuff from BAIASTICE that you can pick up at COLLABOR88 this month. It’s getting pretty cold here, luckily my pixel self won’t have to worry about her legs getting cold.  Continue reading

All About that Bass

1016_004

I do not pay a lot of attention to the Hot 100 as most of the songs recently seem to have Idol-itis – overproduced and full of melisma. However, someone on plurk mentioned having All About that Bass stuck in her head so I was curious and listened to it. I was surprised by its retro doo woo sound and was happy that such a positive body image song was leading the charts. Pop music popularity is dominated by the tweens, so the song’s popularity makes me optimistic about “kids today.”

Please Come to Boston

140913_002

Dave Loggins wrote “Please come to Boston” which opens with a plea to his love to travel to Boston in the springtime. She refuses, telling him to come home to her. It is a lovely ballad of frustrated love between a rambling man and a homebody. Of course, I think his timing is wrong. He should have asked her to Denver in the spring and to Boston in the fall, not the other way around. Boston and its environs are so beautiful in the fall. And then she would could have worn wonderfully classic sweaters like this argyle from Gizza aptly names Boston. There is also a coordinating skirt and collar and the outfit comes in many styles from this classic argyle to stylized baroque a la McQueen.

Is an Aardvark an Anteater?

I don’t know. I used to think they were. Now I think I’m wrong. But I don’t know I’m wrong. What I do know is that Mutresse has anteaters at THE ARCADE. Mine likes to do fashion shoots with me. What a versatile creature.  She’s only a few accessories away from fashion blogger, I swear. Continue reading

Morning Coffee with Vic

My oldest friend in SL and I had coffee this morning and caught up. He’s one of my favorite people on the grid. He complained about how much stuff I have in my house and how it’s making him lag and I taunted him for how he was dressed and it was like old times.

After he finally left to go to bed – he’s still one of those up all night people while I have left those days firmly behind me, I decided to go check out Relay for Life.  Continue reading

Hair Fair, I Am In You

I put on my most sensible walking shoes and ran the gauntlet at the blogger preview of HAIR FAIR 2014 this evening. Hair Fair, why do you make me love you so? You are everything a girl who has so many needs for different hair could want.

Hair Fair is my favorite annual event and I’m so excited, I can’t decide where to spend my lindens next.  The build this year is ADORABLE, and moving around is a breeze with this great lay out. Continue reading

What City People Think Country Folk Wear

jul08_002

The Real Housewives of New York traveled to Missoula, Montana, because nothing pumps up the drama like making a bunch of women who can barely tolerate each other travel together and be in each other’s company for days on end. Normally the women of New York are impeccably dressed for wherever they go, but with a few exceptions, the RHONY crew did not pack well for Montana. They were more Ralph Lauren New West than the real West. When they went to the rodeo, more than one wore a white prairie skirt. Rodeos are dusty and dirty events — and let’s not forget port-a-potties — where white skirts are downright silly. Watching, I realized I was seeing what city people think country folk wear. Either that or they all wanted to be Laura Ingalls once upon a time.
