My first hair from Alli & Ali was in 2009, when the Darla hair took the fashionista world by storm. I think everyone I know bought that hair.

Since then, the brand has maintained its reputation for wild, exuberant hair that suits the bold, the outrageous and the wildest among us.

It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?

Alice Klinger: Probably being in SL as much as I am is the real crazy thing. I used to be there 20 hours every day when I started getting creative here, with only small coffee breaks, but recently learned to enjoy the real sun and my real garden again so, I have cut down on those all-nighters a bit. While the runway shows are over, Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week continues with the showcase of stores that were featured last week. One of them was Ghee which is known for whimsical and original designs. This summer silk lace dress is a gorgeous example, made with two pieces. a slip and a lace shift that lays over it. Would you update your viewer in the middle of a photo shoot?

Normally my answer would be “Hell to the No” but when I was shooting these pictures today, I figured it could not possible get worse and might get better. So when I saw there was a new update, I went for it. I have not been able to save a photo to disk since Monday and was saving raw shots directly from the SL viewer to Flickr. The photos for this post are raw, unedited pictures. They have not even been cropped. I know Flickr has a photo editor, but I don’t like it. Still, it turns out fine. I just like to play with a few little touch ups now and then. I am wearing a fun and adorable sailor sweater and flared skirt from MotiAme that I found at Kustom9 when I dropped by to throw money at Apple Fall, as one does. The sweater comes in gray, brown, blue, black, red and white. The skirt is in black, white and blue. They fit together well and have a lovely early fall feeling – for those days with brisk breezes, a bit of mist in the air and moments of sunshine. October in Oregon.

Layering

Ghee has all sorts of knits and woolens for layering in rich jewel tones and foundation neutrals that make for great cold-weather fashion. I particularly love this tunic with a long cowl sweater. Underneath I am wearing ghee’s thermals that come in great colors and which I would recommend as investment purchases except for one big hurdle – they have no Slink Physique appliers which is becoming a deal breaker for things like tights, leggings and layering sweaters.

When a Picture Is Not Enough

There were a few dresses at Fashion For Life that really needed more than a picture. A thousand words might help, but I think in this case a video that can be made easily with the help of Video production company Toronto is a better option. These two dresses from Likka House are great fun costumes. They would justify planning your own circus party – Look at the carousel horses. When you are running out and about you can turn them off so you won’t lag.

Ghee’s Gown of a Different Color and the Laced Up shoes are kind of crazy wonderful creations that reminds me of that old group, Not Possible In Real Life. Do you remember the group? I loved it and miss it quite a bit – it was a celebration of all that is special and unique about Second Life – just as these outfits are.

Forgive my poor videography, my computer is old and tired and when I do a video it crawls in a corner, curls into a fetal position and whimpers.

So Love Donna Flora is now open. Frankly there is so many wonderful things I am overwhelmed trying do decide what to buy myself. This dress from Ghee for Love Donna Flora was an easy choice for me, though, being my favorite color. Also, Ghee is a new-to-me store and that is always fun. The dress is alive, can you see the sparkles?
