Versus Magazine did a lovely tribute to Squinternet Larnia that was released on the 4th, the one-year anniversary of her death. Tania Tebaldi who wrote and managed Squinternet’s blog for her wrote an essay that showed a different perspective on Squinternet than the one I knew. That’s one of the reasons people come together to mourn their loved ones – because we all know people through different lenses and in sharing our grief, we all get a fuller, rounder perception of the person. I am suffering from a late arrival home but not suffering so much I couldn’t squeeze my new kitty from THE ARCADE. Fat kitties and fat babies are two of my favorite things. Aisling released a host of fat kitties to hold or to set about and be your sweet companions, for THE ARCADE.

I love that you get a little HUD to change their eye color. That’s such a sweet little touch!

And now I’m going to crawl to the RL and anxiously await sleep tonight.

House Hunting

I have been thinking about moving, downsizing from my lovely, but large, 5th Avenue townhouse and have been on the lookout for something marvelous. I think I found it at Collabor88 this month. I mean look at that red door! We need more red doors in our lives.

This month’s Collabor88 is inspired by the Odyssey and I am loving the many interpretations that designers are coming up with. I am fondest of those that are less literal – like this mini-dress from Tres Blah. It was a bit short for my taste so I added some leggings from Maitreya to avoid flashing my hoo-hah around.

So this carriage house from Trompe Loeil appeals to me as a new home. The only problem is that I will have to move. I hate moving – not as much in SL as in RL – but I still like to stay in one spot. However, I am pretty sure I will sign a lease on this place and move in shortly. I love carriage house apartments. When I was in college, I had a friend who rented a carriage house. It was gorgeous inside and the rent was reasonable, best of all, though, it was on an estate – so there were these magnificent grounds that he was able to use – so long as he scheduled with the owners. Lucky guy!

I’m playing with beautiful windlights today. I’m not much of a collector of windlights, or creator of them either. I’m a LAZY windlight user. But my friend Kavar posted this one a while back and I had to get around to picking it up. I actually just had to go look it up for the link and see a couple more I’m going to need.

Rain Rain Go Away

Except in Cali, out here we could use the rain and a lot of it! If only I could hand everyone one of these awesome umbrellas from NODE I could solve the drought. With a click of a button the umbrella opens up and rain falls from above. (side note: for picture effect I did post process a bit more rain into the picture).

UBER started yesterday and there are many great designers there, like Tres Blah, who is in my top 3 fav clothing makers. I love the partial tucked in shirt thing going on.  Also the jean skirt is nice and there are many tones to choose from. I like that I’ll be able to use this skirt in many different outfits. It’s a staple really, like flour.

Dinner With Gogo

After I lay around gossiping with Gogo for about an hour, I announced to her that I was making pixel dinner and she was morally obliged to come over. I mean, look at me chopping things. I’m making way too much for one.  She had to come over, why waste so much food?

Fish dinner as the sun sets? Obviously, perfect. Gogo took the picture of the two of us because my plates were full bright and she was going insane. It’s true though, we fashion bloggers have a nature aversion to full bright. It makes us glow disconcertingly. Full bright is our kryptonite.  I’m just drinking my wine while she eats with a knife like a cavewoman and yells at me about the full bright.  #Secondlifeproblems. Continue reading →
