Bikini Babes of Collabor88

I love summer in SL. Even though summer is actually available to us always and never has to stop, I’ve realized I need to embrace the seasons there and make them special.

Thus – summer joy is upon me when I saw these great bikinis out for the offering at Collabor88 this month. I’ve never been a “bits hanging out girl” despite the appeal that some of those seem too have for SL. I like a bit more tradition and these bikinis fit the bill for me.

Probably my favorite thing is that you can mix up the colors on the bits of them to change your look, coordinate with your hair, whatever suits your fancy. Personally I was in a pink and purple mood today, can you tell?

I’ve been a bit MIA lately because now and again life gets in the way, but here I am, like the bad penny.

I always turn up.

Get over to the July round of Collabor88 and check out what’s new and awesome. You won’t be sorry.

Hair Fair Is Almost Over But Collabor88 Is Full Throttle

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.

Only one more day of Hair Fair, one more day to find gorgeous hair and raise money for Wigs for Kids. This blog will show a few of the EnVOGUE hairs for the designer I profiled earlier today. I will also show of the fun outfit from Hucci that makes me thing I should try salsa dancing. Other highlights are some fun sandals from Pure Poison and crazy bold earrings from Mon Cheri – all at Collabor88. I will let the photos speak for themselves.

There’s a Boat That’s Leaving Soon for New York

Are You Sleeping? One of my favorite songs ever is “There’s a Boat That’s Leaving Soon for New York” from Porgy and Bess as sung by Phoebe Snow. This promenade on Staten Island made me think of the song. To be honest, lots of things make me think of this song. It’s on my iPod and I play it frequently. Her voice was amazing and she was a heroic woman.

There’s a boat that’s leaving soon for New York
Come with me
That’s where we belong, baby
You and me can live that high life in New York
Come with me
There we can’t go wrong, baby

Eponymous Me & Cockfosters

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

So, I was considering what to wear on this subway. I really didn’t want anything ridiculous revealing. Something I would hope not be accosted in is what I was thinking. I remembered this gorgeous dress Cecelia Petion had posted on Plurk, so I unpacked the Poppy blogger box for June and saw the box inside had a dress named Cajsa. OMG! What could this be? Then when I unpacked it, it was the dress I remembered from Plurk…I just about did handstands. I would have if I had an animation handy. This struck me as the apotheosis of Second Life serendipity. They way things just fall into place.

Here and Gone

Here and Gone

I am usually ambivalent about jumpsuits. In my first life, I think they are annoying. They are not particularly flattering and seriously, who wants to almost completely undress every time they go to the restroom? But we don’t pee in SL, so bodysuits are not so ridiculous here.

And when the body suit is this beautifully architectural, then all of a sudden I am down with bodysuits.

One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.

One could do worse than be a swinger of birches Narcissi has released a perfect summer outfit at Vintage Fair. These shorts and tops come in two sets, pastels and brights. The pastel shorts set also has several gorgeous prints, fun vintage prints.

One could do worse than be a swinger of birches I took to the trees because I was doing a book review of a book called The Solace of Trees that I reviewed on my book blog and on YouTube. It’s about refugees and it is timely, important, and not terribly well done.  Continue reading

The Things You Forget

It’s funny what you forget, and what you remember, over ten years time. Asked recently to recollect my days in SL, the arc of my existence in pixel space, and the story flowed.  But what struck me wasn’t the fails, the losses, the friends who turned out to be flakes and went their way.

No, it was the constancy of the right people – when you are lucky enough to meet them. Continue reading

Collabor88 Fashions & Book Reviews Too

In every outthrust headland, in every curving beach, in every grain of sand there is the story of the earth

I spent the afternoon at The Trace Too, using all the seating there for my poses. I hopped on scooter and a bench that were on-site. I went there to make a video blog about a book I had just finished reading.

Poolside Respite

I always think I’ve found the perfect pool but then I find the next perfect pool and then the next one and well, obviously this means I have a lot of pools.

Scarlet Creative released a new MUST HAVE resort style pool and I admit, it was on my list of amazing pieces at this round of Collabor88. Continue reading
