Feels Like Fall

I have to confess I’m an addict for fall. While the heat in the RL stays in the 90s my SL turns into a pumpkin colored wonderland at the first hint of autumn. The SALEM event kicked off and that has to mean it’s fall doesn’t it? I’m positive it means that. I’m sporting new lips and eye BLACK MAGIC makeup from ALASKA METRO that you can pick up at SALEM.

I’m doing a bit of urban shopping today in a sharp suit from Baiastice and my favorite HAT HAIR from Hair Fair this year. Every year I declare a BEST HAT HAIR at Hair Fair and honestly – THIS IS IT FOR ME. SO CUTE. Perfect for the breezy city streets while I look for the next bargain! Continue reading

Happy Birthday Cajsa

The first time I ever visited Cajsa at her house, she lived underwater. This isn’t to say she lived in some kind of bubble house underwater, she actually lived underwater. It was the fist time it had occurred to me that since the rules of breathing were not a necessity any longer that one could just live in a house underwater – just for fun.

But she did. Continue reading

The In Between

My first thought today was to find some sort of horrible St Patrick’s Day nightmare and blog it as though I thought it were fitting.

But hell I’ve done that for almost a decade so I decide nah, let it go finally. I mean it’s not like Shamrock Pasties and butt plugs are in short supply on Marketplace, if one is so inclined.  Yet I just wasn’t feeling it.

I guess I’m just in a “Let me stand in front of this giant bear holding an umbrella” sort of mood. What can I say? Continue reading

Your Heart’s Desire

Your heart’s desire isn’t necessarily your mind’s. People say the heart wants what it wants. But what about the rest of you? What if your soul requires one thing? What if your hands and feet require another? And what about “What you can stomach?” Your stomach has needs of it’s own, that have nothing to done with one’s heart.

There are things you feel in your bones.  What if your heart doesn’t know about them?

What if your heart is a selfish ridiculous organ with no regard for the rest of your entity? Continue reading

You Like My Loving Machine

It’s another day of exploring at Backdrop City for me. I have found no less than five new creators I need to support with my $$ and I’ll be going shopping soon. If you’re like me, you like to own a lot of backdrops to set up fun scenes for blogging the creations of our world. Continue reading

Sparkle from Alaska Metro

I’m not super keen on sparkle, but I tried these lip and eye colors on from Alaska Metro which were just released at On9 and I have to admit, they are really classic and lovely.

Six lip colors and six eye colors which are really perfect for holiday parties or ringing in your new year in a festive style.  Continue reading

Hey Hey Let’s Rewind…

Hey howdy I’ve been shopping all the live long day can you believe it? I hit the Rewind event pretty hard, I’m gonna have to sell a pixel kidney i suspect to get by. But I managed to get this super cute backdrop from Astralia on my second pull at their machine.

That was a sign from the Gacha Gods – so I walked away. Good fortune was MINE. Continue reading

I Am Going to the Max

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable-JFK

“A proper community, we should remember also,
is a commonwealth: a place, a resource, an economy.
It answers the needs, practical as well as social and spiritual,
of its members — among them the need to need one another” — Wendell Berry

Rustica was one of the first furniture stores I ever visited in Second Life. My friend Maht Wuyts from The Velvet and I would go there at least a couple times a month. We had a photo studio and it was furnished with Rustica’s Couch of Many Colors and there was that sleek recliner that offered Grey Goose martinis. There was the sleeper sofa that opened up with a mouse click into a bed. Long billowy curtains that pooled on the floor. Man, we loved that place. It felt like a real shop, a bit over-crowded and messy. You know, like an old-fashioned place that is the opposite of a mall. Unlike many stores, when you visited Rustica, the owner might be sitting behind the counter and would even chat. So Max Graf has been an SL acquaintance and friend for ten years now. During all that time, he has been a friendly and generous member of Second Life’s community.

Sadly, he and his family have lost their home due to legal manipulations they may be able to overturn, but not in time to keep a roof over their heads. They risk homelessness without some help. Second Life is a proper community and proves it again and again, a place where people can admit to needing each other. Max asked people to shop at his store, but people, remembering all Max has done over the years to build SL community wanted to do more. That’s where Going to the Max came from, the knowledge that Second Life is a proper community.
