It’s been a while since I had somewhere regular to go, and my friend Muff’s RAINBOW REEF beach side bar was just the thing a few days ago. I don’t need to be coerced to buy swimwear. And – I don’t need shoes. This might just be the relaxing zone of my dreams.
My friend Putrid was hanging out and as I love her more than my luggage I ran over to consume ridiculous booze and chill with her. She was being decorative, as per her norm, if somewhat sloppy with her booze. My goodness woman don’t spill!
Your evening can be mellow and chill with good drinks at Rainbow Reef. But man do us all a favor, if you need to do some weird lesbian incest roleplay, keep that in your privates. NOBODY IN LOCAL WANTS TO HEAR ALL THAT.

I headed over to Nutmeg to do a little shopping and wandered around the property a while. I found this trolley that has seen better days and and errant moon.
I’m wandering the grid today in search of the chair that matches my new desk and it’s apparently not out at the main store and this is my fault for not having bought it when I bought the desk. Why did I think that my 10454050 desk chairs I already own would work? Why? Because I was being cheap that’s why.
So now I must buy the chair not only because it matches but also because it matches.
I tried on one of Exile’s lovely short styles so I could show off my silly bear earrings I picked up at the SL17B birthday bash.
Brunette Gidge is liking the change. Maybe Brunette for a while? Hard to say. Gidge does like change.
I had an inauspicious landing at SL17B as the landing point i chose dropped me right in the middle of some pool inside a building of some sort. It never rezzed to the point that I could figure out if it was a temple, or some sort of memorial or what it was I was trapped in. I finally managed to climb out, irritated to say the least but as always, I wanted to love SL17B.
It’s like the sims on SL17B were planned and put together by people who never once had to plan or lay out an event. There is some sort of joyous “cram everything together and who cares how it looks” planning that seems to go on. What this ends up meaning for us mortals not rocking the greatest gaming computer is that it is lag hell, and rendering hell. Is that a rocket ship? Is that a rock? Is that a cyclops? I’ll never know. It never rezzed.
It’s hard to put down the amazing and inspired vignettes our fellow citizens make though. There’s so much joy and creativity, little activities scattered through out to make you smile and let you enjoy the view. Sometimes maybe it’s ok if things aren’t perfect, if you can still enjoy the fun of it.
I stumbled in to a poetry cafe, where we were invited to sit and then touch the photo of the poet we were interested in. I was handed a copy of Maya Angelou’s Poem “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” which was poignant to me in light everything going on out in the world.
There are some amazing builds, beautiful vignettes to take photos or just play and enjoy your SL. It’s worth the lag and slogging through the mess of it, it really is. There are gifts that are amazing and you can find those in concentrated gift areas. There’s also a shopping area – shop and hop or something or other. You can locate them all here at this link.
Have you gone? You need to go.
After all – there is a free Kittycat! Always a win.
There was a lot more to see and do – obviously one place was giving out a horse to ride, which I found to be delightful. There is a trolley but I could never manage to get on it – i find that confusing. I waited a ridiculous amount of time – let me tell you. It kept going! There is also a drive in movie which LOOKS great but doesn’t work – it says you can click on the screen to start it but it just craps out.
Regardless of these quibbles – SL17B will only come once and this is your chance. Get off your platform and go have some fun. Be ridiculous. Pick up the freebies. Come for the fun, stay for the lag.

I’m out for adventure today and decided that I wanted some sort of Safari adventure to happen. I found an interesting build which promised animals I could ride and lots of scenery but I got stuck in how cute the landing area was and took a bunch of photos there. There is something to be said for a nice vignette, isn’t there?
I have these new shoes from Ingenue – who is my go to for all shoes – and they are perfect for exploring on a hot day! They’re sneakers! They’re sandals! They’re comfy and perfect and exactly what I needed for wandering this safari landscape today.
I also decided that the time was RIGHT for me to check out Equal 10 and honestly, that event had some great things – not sure why I don’t frequent it more? Really cute things there were going on from folks I was NOT that familiar with. One brand I am very familiar with and a fan of was ChicChica who truly makes some of my favorite foodie things on the grid. It’s fun fun – all of her food is a pretty as it is delish.
She had this corn dog for sale and I tested the demo to check it out and of course – CUTE. I forgot I had it on when I ran off to take pics. So of course, I had a corndog on safari.

On Friday night I had the distinct pleasure of taking my old friend Dancien around the grid on a tour of “the NEW SL”. Except, it’s not really NEW it’s just – “CHANGED AND UPGRADED FROM WHEN YOU LEFT SL”. I started him off with a quick run to Kittycats because even if he didn’t want their free kittycat – well I did. (He did).
If you haven’t heard, they have these kitties out, you get either a boy or a girl and they are free – one per resident. AND you don’t have to feed them. If you covet a sweet little friend for your Linden home or personal parcel, I recommend these lovelies.
Next we popped over to Dutchie so I could show him the awesome furniture including a dining set I covet that has really cool meal sequencing available. He covets the bar – so i’m going to look forward to popping over to his place and having drinks.
After that we went to 7 Emporium and picked up yard signs to offend our neighbors. HOA BE DAMNED!!
I’ve also been working on more house decorating and finally got progress on my office.
In her previous post Rose mentioned her new love of grabbing old and new things and putting them together. Honestly that’s become my jam. I love shopping and am not stopping, but there’s no reason why GREAT things from my inventory can’t come out for a spin now and then. I mean, Blueberry makes AMAZING jeans. Why wouldn’t I wear them just because they aren’t new?
i still like my Catwa head that was free. I have one quibble and that is that my ears go green on the regular. What is that about? It’s disconcerting but you still see me wearing it don’t you?

I went out Friday in search of some dinner and to take a look-see around the world. I love stumbling in to new places, finding things and meeting folks. Murder City ended up being a perfect place for an evening like that.
While there is a bit of the odd murder here or there, it’s a great spot for taking photos and exploring, lots of little things to find and do while you are there.
I grabbed a bowl of ramen for dinner and I do confess, I was surprised that it wasn’t poisoned or the cook didn’t stab me. I guess even murder city needs a spot for dinner in between the murders
After a bite I explored for quite a while. There’s a lot to see and find here – and I got to meet the owner who says she’s still building more so I am going to have to come back some time and check out what’s new.
I seriously love this cat you guys.
When it started to rain and murder definitely seemed more likely I decided it was time to head about to Bellisseria for some quiet. Before I headed out though, I decided to avail myself of this “touchless” pizza delivery option. After all, by the time I get home I’m going to be hungry, right?
I really hope this taxi is headed to Bellisseria…what’s that down this tunnel….
