I donned my best party dress from Sascha’s Designs and hit the mean streets of SL16B – only to find it to be a festival of lag and sort of, I don’t know, the usual mainland horror. I will have to try to go back when it’s a bit less chaotic, because I do LIKE the event and there is often some amazing stuff to be found.
This round I managed to grab my official KittyCats and truly, if I get nothing else, this is a serious tradition to me. Rotting in my inventory are the corpses of every birthday KittyCat they’ve ever made, ready to be resurrected if only I’ll pay for it.
I won’t.
But it’s the principle of the thing, you know. I have to have them.
After pushing my way through the lag and the half nude people I decided I had to get out and find something else. So what did I find? 24 hour cupcake vending.
Not the hero we need, but the hero we deserve.

When I put on the gorgeous bikini from Zaara, I immediately wanted to take pictures on the beach. I popped on over to The Trace Too and was immediately reminded of one of the reasons I stopped logging into Second Life. It seems to me once I put on my mesh body, hands, feet, head, hair, clothing, accessories, and a pose hud, I could not move. I took one picture and then spent about 2 hours trying to reposition the camera. I gave up and went back to my prim in the sky.

I spent the last few days moving house (yes again what can I say) and after working like a peasant moving prims about I decided that I deserved a little vacation. I grabbed my bags and headed out to try my hand at surfing. I know I’ve done a little now and then throughout the years but it’s been so long since I’ve dedicated a few hours to being able to do it that I thought WHY NOT NOW?
How hard could it be?
Well it’s not easy. AT ALL. There’s a weird combination of skill plus your computers lack of lagging out plus well, just LUCK I think involved. I got knocked off my board a lot.
It seems like it’s all in your toes, if I’m honest. If i was thinking about my toes when I was guiding her, I managed to not go wonky. Eventually I ended up doing this a lot, paddling out, surfing in, paddling out, surfing in.
Why is this so satisfying?
I don’t know, but it’s made my day pretty wonderful.
I have to go home at some point. But not right now.

Hello, world! That’s what the blank sample post always starts with in WordPress and it seems appropriate as it has been a long time since I last blogged. Fifteen months! I won’t bore you with all the details, but I have been having some health issues that just made SL seem overwhelming.
On to more interesting topics like this gorgeous Poker Suit from Baiastice. I don’t know why it’s called Poker Suit, except maybe the décolletage will distract other players enough to help you win. I can see that happening. The top is tailored with a pagoda shoulder, a fitted waist, and a styling HUD that allows you to wear it cropped or with a peplum. You can also wear it with the bra showing or hidden and choose from a range of colors. The pencil skirt length can also be shortened with the HUD. There are a range of solid and prints. I chose this lovely lace brocade. With the print, I wanted a simple, classic shoe and there’s nothing more classic than Slink’s Siren stilettos
The jewelry is from Kunglers. I am wearing the Lola necklace and Vera earrings. Both come with a HUD scripted to allow changes to the metal and stones. The necklace also allows us to change the color of the cords. The nails are from AlaskaMetro, the Kimono manicure suiting the laciness of the suit.
Finally, Glam Affair’s Stella adds the final touches.

I went to go through Bryn Oh’s Installation as I had not seen the story of the Rabbicorn yet. If you had asked me “Have you seen all the Bryn Oh installations?” I would have said well DUH yeah of course, what am I a barbarian”” But in fact, I recently realized I had not seen THE RABBICORN. So I had to amend that ASAP today.
I had forgotten the story of the girl who was lost and remade, so I had to walk through that story again so that part two would make sense. I was again struck by the journey up the tower and it’s final destination, the reminder of nightmares that I’ve had desperately trying to reach something only to find the echos of loss and reminders of the past at the end.
I was reminded again of the sadness of this build, of the dreams lost and the heartbreak within it. I won’t ruin it. You need to see and experience this place yourself. I think I chose to forget. It just hits me that hard.
But the rabbicorn gave me hope. The rabbicorn was built for love and happiness, only to give love wherever it went.
I loved the next part of the story and even as the rabbicorn had to flee, I knew where she was going.
The rabbicorn found the girl in the tower, tangled in vines.Her heart whirred to life full of love.
I knew she was going there all along. I knew that no matter where the Rabbicorn went, she would go to the girl to save her from being so alone and lost.
I wish I had my own rabbicorn.

So there is an article rolling around the internet written by someone who alleges not to have bathed for a really long time. Thematically the article is trying to say that our western obsession with bathing is unfounded.
NO. This is lies.
While you might not need to be one of those people who showers twice or three times a day, please don’t think that if you roll around 3-4 weeks unbathed that the rest of us don’t notice. WE NOTICE. For the love of God, wash. WE NOTICE.
There are people who own animals who don’t think their house smells like animals. There are people who live by rivers who don’t think that the outside smells like dank river.
There are all untruths, brought to you by the fact that you have gone noseblind.
In my pixel world, I never have to worry about these things yet I do observe the appropriate rituals and customs – simply so that my mind is ready for the day. I like the preparation of getting ready to go out in to the world, pixel or not. I’m worried about the person who wrote that article and how they’re going about in their world, unaware of the horror show they are inflicting on others.
I mean, the smell. My GOD the smell.
The Thames smells a bit though. Nothing to be done about that.

I was given two KittyCats to blog when the brand launched back in the day. I’ve had them out, and considered them a vital part of my SL ever since. I cannot have a home without them.
When I rezzed up my new apartment – I pulled them out only to find that they were exactly 3000 days old! That’s a reason to celebrate.
Here they are at their very own birthday party. Yes, I know I do know how to party. I’m pretty much a social butterly.

I moved out of Juicy for the last time, and tonight this long standing SL Icon goes away.
