And she’s clearly thinking about the last episode of North & South (BBC series), look at those pretty tears. The skin is a group gift from Ugly Duck, one of the Soko line.

Schadenfreude has a new dress out. It’s the Cry Baby dress in leopard. I admit that my favorite view of the dress is the back view! The dress works perfectly with these new poses from Ovation, the Cara poses. Very feminine, yet with a lot of attitude. (What’s with the title? It’s a quotation from Cry-Baby, which I haven’t seen in far too long…)

Whenever I see posts from Second Life bloggers, I feel this incredible joy that they’re taking time out of their real lives to share some creativity and fun with us. I always wonder what I’d see if I pulled back that fourth wall. Would all of their struggle be revealed? The hard work at the real life job, the family to tend to, the health struggles, the technology issues? To me, that makes every post even more of a miracle! And in that spirit I present these not-entirely-perfect-but-it’s-wot-I-can-achieve photos.

My skin is beautiful. Fade Lei from Ugly Duck has emerged from a hiatus to present us with the Soko skin. It’s got her trademark amazing depth of skin texture, with a creamy complection and perfect natural lips that would make any Lolita proud. I like the Asian tilt to the eyes, and if you unfrock, the boobs are very natural too. (Check it out!)

Then there came the patch in which shadows broke. I couldn’t enable them in Phoenix Firestorm without crashing SL so badly that I had to clean install every. Single. Time. Cajsa hopped in with a fix for that: upgrade my Mac’s OS to the latest, and it would work! So I upgraded. And Lo, it was possible to enable shadows again. Sadly they don’t actually photograph yet (or there’s a fix I haven’t found), for only about half the shadow photos, and the rest is lost.

And then my ancient Photoshop broke. I shoulda made sure CS2 worked in Mountain Lion before hand, but sadly I didn’t and it doesn’t. I have downloaded Gimp and will try my best to learn it. All whining aside, it’s nice to have an SL that works reasonably well again. And change definitely forces me to think. And thinking is ALWAYS good. Right?

First post of January and I’m back in my girl shape. I’ve got a backlog of things to write about that I just couldn’t talk my boy avvie into wearing (like these pretty new stockings from Schadenfreude), so I have a lot to do this month! I hope everyone had a good New Year, and that this year, you move out of your comfort zone and try new things. 😀 (Wait, was that a blessing or a curse?) The pretty horns are new from Lassitude & Ennui (I adore the design on them), and the dress and armwarmers are from Plastik.

I had the unexpected opportunity to take another photo in my boy avvie, sliding one in before the end of the month! I’m sporting goodies from Schadenfreude today — antlers from the excellent stocking that Allegory puts up every year, and the Prize Pig too! The vest is from her FLF offering yesterday, and the rest of the outfit is fabulous stuff from ~silentsparrow~. There’s a close up on my manly makeup job (including undereye sequins from Miss Shippe’s Shop) after the cut. I do believe that the Schadenfreude stocking is still up at her main shop, if you missed this lovely yearly freebie!

It’s coming to the end of December, which means that I’m almost done with my “dress as a boy all month” challenge. I decided to end by wearing my current favorite boots — these awesome studded long boots by J’s. (IRL I adore a similar style by Jeffrey Campbell, the Helen Spike, heh.) The folder contains mesh sizes for men and women, which is lovely. I’m wearing it with a random Christmas sweater, some makeup, and stuff that’s old but barely worn.

Today I’m wearing Lassitude & Ennui’s Dreamer tiara, made by Jackal for L’Accessoires. It’s so lovely I couldn’t resist sticking it on my boy avatar (he looks good in drag anyway). He’s wearing it with a feather boa from Schadenfreude. The fun thing about this photo is that I didn’t desaturate it, instead, the skin is an ancient silver one from Den Dou (damn, I miss Den Dou!), and I’m standing in a randomly desaturated tree.
