Have I been to The Arcade, hmmmm… Want a cakepop? Or how about a cute pink elephant? Actually, I have not yet been to The Arcade, but I’ve been the joyful recipient of other people’s largess. All of the stuff I’m wearing is a gift from someone who was kind enough to shuffle me a bunch of cuteness. (Thanks, Kat!) I’m so overjoyed that Pink Fuel is doing colorful skins. I adore richly saturated skin colors, and these suit me perfectly. Gotta gatcha ’em all, now!

Jackal Ennui has made amazing boots ever since I began playing Second Life ages and ages ago. Her boots were some of the first footwear that I ever bought in Second Life, fighting that “Oh my god I’m spending virtual money on virtual clothing” feeling. (Remember that? Heh.) And now, after so many years, Jackal has made a DRESS. The dress is delicate, with the same glorious texturing that Jackal uses on her shoes, but now applied to this elegantly clean-lined frock. The dress will be out for Zodiac – Pisces on February 19th.

In honor of the day I dug out a bunch of macabre, dark things, including this beautiful Corbie outfit from ~silentsparrow~ (one of my all-time favorite outfits from hyasynth), this hair from Hiccup (does anyone remember this shop? It’s long gone now), and these lovely Sugarskull boots from Lassitude & Ennui.

I’m wearing items from last year’s Mardi Gras because this year sprang upon us early, and few people seem to be creating for it. I’m crossing my fingers that Siyu at Illusions will still have a ball (send me a group invite, madam!), and because of that I dressed up! What’s your tradition for Mardi Gras? I woke up and made my family pancakes with Nutella, and then I went to Starbucks and got their MOST calorific coffee drink, with extra whip. Take that, Lent!

I logged into Second Life tonight only to encounter a friend. He was doing well, better than I expected after a long time away, and we caught up with each other. For a little while it was “things that suck” oneupmanship, but it was clear that despite all of my health shit, his life won for worst. That’s the frustrating part about Second Life. You can say “Aw, hug!” but you can’t actually do it, not so that someone feels it. But if being chat-friends means anything, it means that no matter how long you’ve drifted apart, you can always reconvene and share the strange ebbs and flows of life…

Hmmm right, clothing. I’m wearing a new skin that I found discretely hiding in a box in my Objects folder, FCD’s Fantasy skin in moonlight. I’m a sucker for unique colors of skins, and this one is lovely. The rest of my outfit is a wash of color to make up for it. I think my Objects folder is clean, now!

What have I been up to? Closing on my first house and curing myself of some more cancer, and that’s just this week. My avatar has therefore only just now gotten around to wearing this fabulously Gelfling mesh head from fashionably Dead, a Christmas gift from my partner Ms. Jackal. What do you do when you feel down to help you feel good again? I curl up around Lord of the Rings (book version), send my husband out to get me snacks and coffee, whine incessantly to whomever will listen, and think about how much my life sucks… I let myself do that for a few hours, and then I have the strength to get on with it again.
