Oh I Overslept

It’s no wonder with this bed from Ispachi, still available at the ARCADE.  The fluffy kitty doesn’t help either.

But it’s 21 SHOE and MY ATTIC opened, and all the other things are happening and it’s a great day for shopping. I need to get up.  Continue reading

I Promised You Pumpkin Pie

And I’m delivering. Pumpkin Pie it is thanks to WHAT NEXT.

Storms are rolling in here on Juicy Island and I’m enjoying the cool breezes as I wind down my day. MY ATTIC starts tomorrow with amazing new things, all of which are only 95L and an amazing bargain. Continue reading

Layering

140919_003

Ghee has all sorts of knits and woolens for layering in rich jewel tones and foundation neutrals that make for great cold-weather fashion. I particularly love this tunic with a long cowl sweater. Underneath I am wearing ghee’s thermals that come in great colors and which I would recommend as investment purchases except for one big hurdle – they have no Slink Physique appliers which is becoming a deal breaker for things like tights, leggings and layering sweaters.

Audrey

140918_004

When I put on this dress, Half Measures, from Dead Dollz for Penumbra’s Autumn/Winter Fashion Week, I immediately thought of Audrey Hepburn. It has a similar front neckline to the little black dress by Givenchy for Breakfast at Tiffany’s. While the wide circle skirt is a complete opposite to the long, slim pencil skirt of that iconic gown, it is still something she would have worn.

Audrey Hepburn remains one of the great fashion icons achieving a kind of immortality with her legacy – not just in film but in fashion and even more importantly, with her activism. She was far more than a pretty face, but was a wise woman who worked tirelessly on behalf of refugees as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, a passionate commitment that may have risen out of her experiences as a teenager in World War II working as a courier for the resistance while one stepbrother went underground and the other was in a labor camp.

I Love Fall More Than Alicia Chenaux

Don’t you hate it when someone shows you a satire site and you don’t get it? Alicia showed me this site yesterday and I was bufuddled. Who is Courtney? Why don’t I know who she is? I mean, I get it now, but at first I thought I had missed some whole internet phenom until she pointed out it was satire.

That being said. All I can think about now is fall.  I had to drag out my pumpkin pie makings set from ARCADE which btw is STILL open AND I bet you can get in, I really do.  If you were holding out, now’s the time. With this handy little set you can prove that you love fall more than Courtney or Alicia! Continue reading

Lemonface

Yellow is underrated on blondes. I think striking yellows just accentuate beautiful blondes though.  SLINK released a one shoulder dress in many colors, of which yellow is one, which is really an understatement.

A one shoulder dress doesn’t really express how necessary this dress is. It should be called NECESSARY ONE SHOULDER DRESS. Continue reading

Autocomplete

140917_003

I have such a hard time remembering hisw to spell Loovus Dzevavor. Thankfully, Google autocomplete finishes it for me. I had a hard time, too, choosing just one of the delightful outfits from the Fall Winter Collection that was released for Penumbra Fashion Week. You can take a peek at a few others on the Loovus web site. I chose the wrap-up top and skirt because I love the inset triangles and how they highlight the curves of my hip. It’s a single mesh piece, but it feel like separates. There are two other versions of this outfit at Penumbra with the same top but different color skirts – brilliant and bold. Continue reading

It’s Only Art #3

It's Only Art Another week where it was a struggle to winnow my favorites down to only fifty, five of which I will feature in the column. The rest you can see here.

I love this picture. First, I am struck by the avatar, Jor.dan, who reminds me so much of Yolandi Visser of Die Antwoord. However striking an avatar may be, though, that alone cannot make a great picture. In this case, ARnnO PLAneR, who shot this picture, made several brilliant choices. First, he went for black and white which strips away distractions. Secondly, he broke the rules and posed her dead center looking straight ahead. Normally, a centered head shot can be dull, but there are exceptions and this is one. Notice how symmetrically she is posed, looking straight ahead – in this power pose with no expression other than that of intense focus. From that central focus – all the details fade away, her earrings blurred, her hair blurred. This strips away the distractions. This picture really is about that gaze, the unblinking gaze that looks right into you. Continue reading

Rambling Rose
Everything has been against me sharing a post with you this past two weeks. I grabbed this set over a week ago now from Luxuria’s FLF. I loved it as soon as I laid eyes on it. I love that someone is still making avatar layer lingerie, and I love the choice of appliers that came in the box. Flexibility is always a girls best friend in SL, and Luxuria hasn’t failed to deliver with butt and boob appliers galore! *Style Card* Hair: Exile – Dancing by myself (Arcade, light reds) Skin: Pink Fuel – Renee Shape: Personal Lingerie: Luxuria – September Rose (Fifty Linden Friday) Shoes: Glamistry – Amaryllis (Red and Black packs combined)
