…is that you don’t have SAINTS per se….and that you don’t know that Saints have DAYS. I mean, you sort of know. You know that there is the festival of this saint or that saint, and if you’re me you’re prone to attend these things cuz they have good food and are fun.
And there is usually a carnival.
My point is, that I’m admitting my own negligence here. I was sent an absolutely STUNNING costume for St Lucia from MER-ELF and like a jerk I didn’t read the lovely note-card included.
It was so lovely, when I put it on, that even though Cajsa said “Umm, St Lucia’s day was Dec 13” I decided that we had to shoot it anyway. Good quality is consistently reflected in the period gowns and costumes produced by Mer-Elf, from items like this to more formal gowns with veils for you all you Gorean Free Women. (If you’re so free what’s with the veil girls?)
I love the beautiful headpiece, which is of course traditional for St Lucia.
Mer-Elf also has out some beautiful freebie gowns (might be dollarbie) I wore one recently to a party (will shoot it soon) and I just added a fun japanese fan to lend a less gorean look – it was simply a beautiful dress as well – which truly speaks to their over-all crafstmanship.
I chose the Peppermint Blue freebie skin VIOLET to wear with this, because it’s so delicate and pretty. You can still get these at Peppermint Blue on Silk Road or at my place Don’t Ask – they’re free whichever place you go and you get a huge pack of makeup colors.
Okay so. St Lucia – Dec 13. I missed it. But this dress is spectacular. Check out Mer-Elf for your role play gowns ladies, or just big fun period costumes. They truly have some lovely items.

Santa Lucia Day isn’t exactly Catholic — as in most of the folks who get all dressed up and who celebrate with a parade and all are Lutherans. It’s a big Swedish holiday, though, and celebrated back home in northern Minnesota as well. You would like it, it’s all about the coffeecake.
Okay not catholic or swedish, or lutheran. So – I’m missing out on coffee cake – this i what I divine.
Need Coffee cake, always.
