A Headache Away

So many things are just a headache away from solving. Right now my head hurts. Decisions are hard, and I’m not a girl who makes them when I don’t have to.  Yet here I am making decisions, shedding my skin and becoming a new girl.

It’s rather liberating. Sort of a “dance in the cold ass snow” sort of liberating.

The snow, however, is cold as shit. Continue reading

Imagine Me And You…and You and Me

RC-Cluster completes my SL in a way that is sometimes too epic to put into words. How did she know I need to both blow dry my hair and perform while getting ready for my day?  Clearly my day was going to be epic, starting out so well entertained. Continue reading

Black Friday

I don’t believe in Black Friday. I can’t imagine withholding my need to buy whatever I want for one day a year. I believe firmly in wanton consumerism 365 days a year. I want everything.  So I am an anomaly and don’t shop madly on Black Friday.  Continue reading

There is always a November space

there is always a November space

But there is always a November space after the leaves have fallen when she felt it was almost indecent to intrude on the woods…for their glory terrestrial had departed and their glory celestial of spirit and purity and whiteness had not yet come upon them.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Windy Poplars

Collabor88 is here and just in time, bringing with it lots of warm and cozy clothing to layer for warmth and color and just because they are beautiful. One of my favorites is Erratic’s sweater with an integrated lace skirt or long tunic and matching leggings. HUDs change the colors of the leggings and the lace. There are so many color options your head will spin. I am wearing two of the sweater colors for today’s post.

Roses, Brocade and Lace @ Collabor88

Raw Pics from SL - FS won't save to disk

Collabor88 is full of the beautiful and macabre this month. I am so very much in love with the Vanity Hair contributions especially as it works so well with the headpiece from Zenith. I imagine   it would also work well with hats and other hair accessories.

Zenith’s brocade corset and lace skirt for Collabor88 is a perfect composition of the Gothic aesthetic, corsets, ribbons and lace in a bold and sexy form that contours and highlights the body.

Woodlands

I’ve been wandering around in the woods for a few days lost and wondering what I wanted to do. Luckily I was dressed for a pastoral setting and only missing my sheep.

I bet a I have a sheep around here somewhere. Continue reading

The Perils of Ponchos

122714_005

I don’t know about you, but for me, ponchos have always been problematic. I bought my first poncho in Spain – knit with thick, luxurious wool and closing at the neckline with gorgeous unvarnished wood buttons. It was so warm and cozy and it felt like wearing a blanket, which meant it really needed to be worn on cold days. So here’s the thing. In Minnesota, if it’s cold enough to wear that poncho, it’s too cold to wear that poncho. The wind would blow up underneath and chill me to the bone. An engineering flaw for cold weather. So every time I see ponchos, I think of my few attempts wearing my gorgeous poncho and remember those bone-chilling gusts of wind sneaking in underneath and think – nope, not for me.

What I needed was one more like this poncho from Zenith – to wear indoors kind of like a high fashion snuggle. But it’s Second Life and so even though there’s snow falling and the pond is frozen over, the winds that ruffle my hair are soft zephyrs carrying billowing warmth – not bone-chilling blasts from Polar Vortex.

Safari Style

0713_004

This month’s theme for Collabor88 is Safari and Baiastice’s offerings are stylishly on point – taking inspiration from African fabrics and textures and colors but making something new  with it. Her skirts and tops are irresistible and should be kept as great mix and match pieces.  The top in particular will be a great one for layering as it skims close to the body.

What City People Think Country Folk Wear

jul08_002

The Real Housewives of New York traveled to Missoula, Montana, because nothing pumps up the drama like making a bunch of women who can barely tolerate each other travel together and be in each other’s company for days on end. Normally the women of New York are impeccably dressed for wherever they go, but with a few exceptions, the RHONY crew did not pack well for Montana. They were more Ralph Lauren New West than the real West. When they went to the rodeo, more than one wore a white prairie skirt. Rodeos are dusty and dirty events — and let’s not forget port-a-potties — where white skirts are downright silly. Watching, I realized I was seeing what city people think country folk wear. Either that or they all wanted to be Laura Ingalls once upon a time.
