Jenay

Neferia Abel, of Ivalde fame, has released a massive new collection under her contemporary label, L’Abel. Many other bloggers and I will probably be highlighting everything over the coming few weeks, but I wanted to start my exploration of the new release with Jenay. I chose Jenay as it seems to carry some of the vintage inspiration that animates the Ivalde label with the contemporary forms of L’Abel.

It has the sleek, feminizing shape of the pencil skirt, the defined waist and perfect fitting bodice of the best vintage styles and the shoulder detail and sleeves of the newest, most modern runway styles. With it I wore the lovely Stiletto Moody Patent Pinups.

The bodice is defined by military style buttons that give the dress panache and a touch of whimsy. I love the look of it, though if she ever does another iteration of this design it might be nice to see the buttons done as a prim attachment. I know that would give us all fitting nightmares the first time we put it on, but it would eliminate the slight distortion that is the inevitable result of the mesh.   The jewelry I am wearing is from Sissy Pessoa’s newest release of accessories. This is the Treai set in gold.

I know Gidge and I have been mercilessly teasing you with the soon-to-be-released Candy skin from PXL Creations. Well, Hart has finally finished the Natural and Sunkissed tones and is hard at work on the other three tones and hopes to release in a week or so. He sent a preview pack of the two finished tones and when I saw this one I fell in love. This is his bronze lip color and I am in love.

I am also in love with the hat – from Chapeau Tres Chignon. It’s called the 4 button hat aand obviously has four buttons on the top that if you could see them clearly would be such a perfect counterpoint to the buttons on the dress. However, the buttons and the hat are the same color and even in-world I could only clearly see them when they were highlighted in editing when I tried to see if I could change the button color. I love the shape and only wish the buttons were color-change so I could play with them. Speaking of falling in love, the hair from fri.day is a must have for anyone who loves hats. Cross my heart and hope to die, I did not have to edit the hair or the hat. I nearly fell over in a faint.
