The title was the first thing I thought of when I slipped into this cloak and gown set from Sascha’s Designs yesterday. Lucy van Pelt understood the importance of wearing the crown, so I couldn’t resist this opportunity to do so myself. It’s a lovely gown for the winter holiday entertaining season WITHOUT the cloak of course, but it’s a lovely winter ensemble all together so I had to include both the cloak and the tiara. I love the form of this sweater dress from NYU. It subtle shift from regular knit to rib knit to hug the waist and forearms is gorgeous. I love the slight blousing out on the sleeves and the top. It comes in two versions, with and without a collar. I chose the collarless option because I decided to add the gorgeous oversized shawl from Baiastice. Both items come in many colors to allow you to find your own favorite. (All photos are raw shots loaded directly to Flickr from Second Life®. They are not even cropped because the viewer crashes when I try to save to disk.)
I really love how the scarf drapes in the back as well. I included to picture to show off the wonderful Christmas Lighting Pine Trees from 3D Trees and explain how I edited them to make them even better.

The cold chill this week sent me running for my sweaters in all lives. This fuzzy amazing sweater from Ison is always going to sit on the top of my sweater shelf, it’s so gorgeously textured, I have to love it. My jeans from SOMNIA that have appliers for my Physique body are a perfect fit with big sweaters like this. Mixing up applier clothes with mesh has become one of my new favorite things. One of my favorite groups back “in the day” was Bettina Tizzy’s Not Possible in Real Life (NPiRL). Tizzy gloried in the freedom of Second Life® creation – unshackled from the laws of Euclid and Newton – free to create anything they could imagine. Of course, Second Life has its own laws that result in some things common in real life becoming Not Possible in Second Life. Something quite simple in real life can become very complicated, even impossible, in Second life. One of those things is fringe.
Fringe is one of the fall’s hot fashion trends and promises to be an even hotter item in the spring. However, the physics of SL are not fringe-friendly. Of course, we could have flexi-fringe, but after two years of not having our clothes fall through our bodies, I think that is not the solution we want. We know from reports that flexi-mesh is not even under consideration right now. So I am excited to see Sunami Beck of Emery look for a work around. It’s not perfect, perfect is impossible, but it is a valiant effort that works pretty well overall. This fringe dress is a la page fashion – and it looks great. I love hot drinks. All sorts of hot drinks. Coffees, teas, chai, hot chocolate. Bring me hot drinks. I have known smokers in real life who would leave cigarettes scattered around their house in ash trays, burning, and would smoking them as they passed by. I am like that in my Second Life with hot drinks. I leave them around.

Someone wrote on SLSECRETS last week that they miss bloggers writing about what they were wearing. I think a lot of bloggers still do this. There are some who don’t. It depends on where their fancy takes them, and what their blog means to them. Cajsa and I still write, but we love words as much as we love fashion. But most importantly, we write for an audience that likes, more or less, what we do.
Knowing who you want to write for, and what you want to write about is an important part of being a blogger. Dressing my doll, and letting her have a bit of a virtual life is only part of it for me. I also like to share her with you. Some days that’s as quick as LOOK AT THIS THING. Maybe that’s because in real life, I’d be so harried that day, this is how I’d end up communicating with you, were we friends. Continue reading
Normally my answer would be “Hell to the No” but when I was shooting these pictures today, I figured it could not possible get worse and might get better. So when I saw there was a new update, I went for it. I have not been able to save a photo to disk since Monday and was saving raw shots directly from the SL viewer to Flickr. The photos for this post are raw, unedited pictures. They have not even been cropped. I know Flickr has a photo editor, but I don’t like it. Still, it turns out fine. I just like to play with a few little touch ups now and then. I am wearing a fun and adorable sailor sweater and flared skirt from MotiAme that I found at Kustom9 when I dropped by to throw money at Apple Fall, as one does. The sweater comes in gray, brown, blue, black, red and white. The skirt is in black, white and blue. They fit together well and have a lovely early fall feeling – for those days with brisk breezes, a bit of mist in the air and moments of sunshine. October in Oregon.

Today I am wearing a versatile dress from Tee*fy. I love that it has options for the bodice. You
can wear the dress with the spaghetti straps alone or, as I did, add the optional harness. There are also lace cap sleeves you can add that slide right under the straps for a touch of romance. It has a fitted bodice with a mesh midriff. Christian Siriano says mesh is “done” but not if it looks as good as this. It is a great take on the Hotel Spoopy theme for October’s Collabor88.
Hotel Spoopy is open at COLLABOR88 and I’m wearing the release from The Secret Store and EXILE to celebrate the current round. I love all the spooky themed items this month. Or are they SPOOPY THEMED?
