It’s a busy SL for me today girls, I’m up early making some soup for later, it’s just getting cool enough that some warm soup will be awesome later. Plus I’ve got a ton of shopping to do, the cats need food (seriously why do my cats email me, that never doesn’t amuse me), and I saw that Ricielli is having a CUTE little hunt that I might pop over and try to pick some stuff up, Monica Querrien did a cute little LOTD post and I am inspired to check it out while I’m out. First things first, Strawberry Singh wrote an important post about an ongoing fraud happening in SL right now. You should read it to best protect your own account. Of course, a good rule of thumb is not to execute or agree to anything from objects given to you by strangers. While it’s not true that you can never cheat an honest person, it is true that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
So autumn is here. Here in Oregon, it’s raining, bringing sweet relief from the heat and let us hope, from the fires that are destroying so much habitat in the Pacific Northwest and California. Here in SL, though, there are no fires and the rain is holding off for another day. However, the state fairs are all over and all the 4Hers have their ribbons and are back in school. Fruits are being harvested and canneries are running around the clock. For me, though, lounging by the barn is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon. Schadenfreude’s black squirrel is much more industrious, picking up a small pumpkin to store away.

While I am not to the manor born, nor are most of us, we can look the part in beautiful clothing such as this lovely BodyCon dress from Indyra with fabulous baroque lace over illusion. Moving into the manor from RageWorks at The Arcade doesn’t hurt, either.

I am full of relaxation today. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because stressful things ended, maybe it’s a new attitude. Maybe it’s just Friday. Regardless, it’s a good thing to feel peaceful inside your own head.
I have several cool things happening on pixel Gidge today. The first one is this lovely bed, from Sway’s. You hear from time to time on plurk “Waaaah we’re sick of events waaaaa” and while maybe some are, many are not. However, there’s not doubt that I definitely miss mainstore releases. I miss having a lovely gauntlet of shops that I couldn’t wait for their next IN STORE release. Sway appealed to our love our Gacha as well as our desire to shop at mainstores by releasing a really adorable bed, the Dreamfloat hanging bed. Continue reading

While babysitting young Sophie for Gidge, I was watching the snow fall and thinking about the coming Christmas gift-giving. Luckily I come from a family that has never been big on giving lots of gifts. With such a large family, it was pretty much essential that we draw names and set spending limits and focus on homemade gifts. I have always had a strong preference for homemade gifts because they are often so much more creative and fun to give and to get. While reading folks on plurk worrying about how to afford Christmas gifts and all, I thought it might be fun to share some of the things that can be given as gifts.
