MiaMai’s Monica Outlander has just released her Luxe collection for spring. It includes a dress, top, pants, jumpsuit and long skirt with items coordinated to mix and match. Items include a HUD that allows you to choose the belts, ribbons and other embellishments so you can coordinate tops with skirts and pants easily. I am wearing the Kalia top with the Anya skirt and chose the ribbon to coordinate with the skirt’s print. Each item comes in solids in cotton and silk and in a range of prints. I love the thought that went into the print and color coordination. Speaking of color coordination, check out the gorgeous gold-tip mani/pedis from FLAIR for Cosmetics Fair.

This moment yearning
THIS moment yearning and thoughtful sitting alone,
It seems to me there are other men in other lands
It seems to me I can look over and behold them in
Or far, far away, in China, or in Russia or Japan,
And it seems to me if I could know those men I should
O I know we should be brethren and lovers,
I know I should be happy with them.
The peaceful light of the ever-shining sun

In the peaceful light
Of the ever-shining sun
In the days of spring,
Why do the cherry’s new-blown blooms
Scatter like restless thoughts?

This was our first apartment and my roommate and I had almost no furniture which lent itself to great parties since we never had to worry that something would get broken. We also had a closet that was about 4 feet wide and 28 feet long (Yes, 28! It was like a cave and we needed a flashlight to see at the far end.) – long enough that when we had a party we could put every single breakable thing in storage. We would rent a keg and stick in a bed of ice in the tub and invite all the neighbors so no one would complain about the noise. We also invited the landlord, knowing he would not come under the assumption that if someone complained he would think – how bad could it be, they invited me? That was our strategy and it worked.

I got me to Japan Fair
After Gidge’s said Get Thee To Japan Fair the other day, I knew I better head over to Japan Fair as soon as possible. Japan Fair is raising money for ShelterBox a charity that helps people who are displaced whether by natural disasters or the manmade disaster of political violence providing them with a box containing emergency supplies necessary for survival. They do amazing work all around the world and deserve your support.
However, there’s ample reason to go in addition to supporting ShelterBox. These boots, for example, are reason enough for a trip to the fair. From Coco, you can wear them with or without socks. They come in several colors but given it’s springtime, I opted for the lovely blue.
Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon
I go out to work on a Monday morning
Tuesday I go off to honeymoon
I’ll be back again before it’s time for Sunny-down,
I’ll be lazing on a Sunday afternoon Continue reading
And Then It Was The 8th
Collabor88 landed with a BOOM and a THUD and the only other sound you heard was the sound of fashionistas heels clicking as they raced to get in. I am as excited as anyone with the gorgeous watercolor palette this round, it’s a very Gidgey experience.
KatatOnik right out of the gate and the adorable flats from Ingenue reminded me of the party dresses of yesteryear that I love so much. Is it wrong I want to dress like that every day? Continue reading
All Good Things Come to an End
Three very good things are coming to an end. The quarterly gacha festival at The Arcade ends today. The annual Skin Fair has ended and the March cycle of Collabor88 is nearing its end as well. If you have been waiting for the crowds to thin before going in for your mad shopping spree – today’s the day. This post features a little from all of them. The lovely skirt suit is from u.f.o. for Collabor88. It’s the quintessential suit for the modern professional woman. Continue reading
The Color of Money – Well Our Money Anyway
Yesterday Sasy showed me that she was already blogging this adorable casual summer ensemble from Lacuna in pink. When I got done weeping, because everyone knows I OWN PINK, I declared loudly I SHALL BLOG ANOTHER COLOR!
Well, it was something like that.
But finding a color named Linden Green was an easy leap to what to wear, I mean, how was I supposed to pass up LINDEN GREEN ? I also considered blogging this tank with all the various sizes floating around me, with the title MAKE IT RAIN.
I’m amusing myself a little much I realize but it’s early, and I’ve had two cups of coffee.
This cute little summer set is available from Lacuna at MY ATTIC for Match. It comes in a ton of colors and they all look comfortable and great for beach days or whatever it is you’re up to in your Second Life.
This hair, also from MY ATTIC from EXILE is called 1985 and I confess, hair parted on the left with big bangs and huge floofy hair is exactly how I spent my 80s. The only thing missing here is the brittle crunchy look we all had from having perms in “the back” of our hair. I’m not sure why we did this. But it was a thing, for sure. Kavar has improved on the style we wore for 2014 for sure.
My jewelry today is from MAXI GOSSAMER for COLLABOR88 and it’s a perfect compliment to my casual look today.

This is Real Life
Let me start with a confession. I do not hate Shopping Cart Disco’s SL Secrets. From sociology and evolutionary psychology, I understand the role of gossip in defining community norms and values. It is possible that anonymity allows more viciousness than we might see in first life, but given the many stories about young people driven to suicide by online harassment on Facebook® and Twitter® coming from non-anonymous classmates, I think that anonymity is a smaller factor than we might think.
Sometimes the secrets make me think, sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes they surprise me. Secrets often spark discussions on Plurk® and I suppose they do on other social media as well. Sometimes I agree with the secret-makers, sometimes I do not. One thing most secret-makers have in common is an idea of how the world should be and they want us all to know it is out of alignment with their standards.
Today a secret maker repeated the all too common “Get a real life” mantra that always seems so ironic coming from someone whose emotional investment is Second Life® is so powerful they are compelled to create anonymous secrets to share their opinions. This time, the “Get a real life” message included an insinuation that purchasing from SL creators could be contributing to their mental illness by promoting an attachment to this second life over their first life.
I think the secret maker is wrong on all levels – because while our first and second lives are distinct and often separate, they are both real.
