When Inex Hax shared her newest release for The Secret Affair on Plurk, I had to comment that it looked like it might just be my favorite of her designs ever. After getting in world and trying it on, it turns out I was right! It’s yummy and comes in white, black red, yellow, pink and blue. I loved each and every one of the colors.

I shot these pics a few days ago wearing an outfit featuring items from last month’s Collabor88. Don’t despair, you can now find them in the store. The top, leggings and boots are all from Tres Blah. They come with a puffy jacket, too, but I left that off. Growing up in a place where it’s really cold, I have never understood those puffy jackets with no sleeves as anything more than an extra lining if your coat is not warm enough.

I was playing with lights and shadows using a single narrow line of white light for my projector. The background prim is white and the blackness comes from wind light set to 100% black everything and bringing gamma down to 0. Then the only light there is comes from the projector. The thin sliver of light in the dark made me feel very noir
I love the modernist simplicity of NYU’s new Thalia coat. Eschewing all the usual outerwear detailing, the epaulettes, the fabric belt, the stitched edging and the rows of buttons, its design details are a simple notched collar and a single button. This is simplicity at its most stark and striking. I wanted to maintain that sensibility in styling and kept to a monochromatic palette of white with touches of black and silver. I chose cigarette pants from One Bad Pixel for their clean and simple lines.
I added a fedora (color-change) from Argace that I have had for ages. I also added a touch of whimsy with CAE’s lovely Blizzard earrings in silver.
My pumps are from Glamistry and are as chic as can be. The come with a color change HUD that allows me to select the color of the metal (silver, copper and gold) and the platform, heel and body separately. However, I did not go for parti-colored shoes with my monochrome mission. There’s a lot of intelligence behind the Glamistry brand – which allows you to add color components to your HUD so if you kick yourself for buying just one color, you can add more later without proliferating your inventory with pairs and pairs of shoes.
My skin choice is Sia (FairTales), a new release from Glam Affair for Collabor88 that features soft and ethereal makeups, several with bright, fun colors.

I decided to go out exploring the winter fun to be had in SL today, so I had to take a bit to get properly geared up. Cute but warm is the goal – it’s hard to be cute sometimes, especially in RL, when you’re layered upon layers upon layers. I decided to have some fun with my ability to layer on my SLINK PHYSIQUE starting with a sweater from Stellar on the body, then adding mesh over it for a cute RL layered look. I’m excited to be reveling in winter in SL while having lovely days in RL. Yay for living in a warmer part of the country. I am not sure what the new year holds, a lot of people are making resolutions. Do you make them? I sometimes feel like resolutions are just attention whoring “Look at me look at me!” but maybe they’re genuine attempts at making positive changes. It’s definitely not for me to say!
I’m excited a new year is coming, and changes are ahead. I hope you are too.

I dreamed I was there in Jacket Heaven and oh what a beautiful dream. But then, it was not a dream! Tres Blah really did release a perfect jacket in five metallics just in time for Christmas. I love jackets and need them desperately because so many tops and dresses are strapless. I don’t mind strapless in a formal, but for everyday – nope, not for me. I want some sleeves! These jackets are sold along with some cute rompers at N°21, the event that just opened yesterday. Yes, I hit teleport several times to get in, but once I was there, everything razzed easily and quickly and I cam-shopped happily.
Speaking of formals, Baiastice has released the annual Winter Collection of formals just in time for the holidays and they are gorgeous. This classic comes with a regular skirt or one with a tulle overskirt. I elected to wear the tulle. I snapped a picture when I was over at The Liaison Collaborative picking up the necklace and earrings I am wearing. It’s beautifully decorated for the holidays.
