My grandmother was obsessed with  dishes, and setting a lovely table. She had dishes for sandwiches and soup. She had dishes for this party, and that party. She had no less than five full sets of dishes when she died, and twice that of small sets she’d bought for entertaining.

I have this same obsession in both lives. Due to space constraints in RL I can’t quite get away with her level of dishes consumption, but I would if I could. A lovely table is inviting, it says “welcome to my home, I’m glad you’re here.”

In my SL though, I’m always alone, so the message is just for me perhaps. Maybe I should set less place settings. It’s lovely but lonely.
