David Crosby’s Almost Cut My Hair lyrics came to mind today as I was thinking about this post.

I guess it’s because so many of us, including me have been deleting more and more of our old flexi and system clothing to make room for mesh. However, today I am going to let my flexi flag fly because there are still times when flexi gives us something that mesh cannot – movement that is flowing, soft and romantic as in this gorgeous gown from Azul.

I am eager to see what Azul’s Mami Jewel can do when she applies her romantic sensibility to mesh, but I still recognize that system clothing and flex-prims have their role in our world. There’s something wonderfully dreamy about the rise and fall of flexi as you sway to the music or walk down a hall and turn. It has romantic formality and regality that we won’t get with regular mesh and from my understanding flexible mesh is only a dream for now. Like all Azul gowns, this gown features a close-fitting bodice embellished with sheer silk tulle and organza, flowing skirts and a train that emphasizes movement and grace.

I am totally bad for keeping the same hair as yesterday, but I like it a lot and it worked so well adding height to balance the drama of the makeup. The jewelry is the fabulously attention-seeking Panda set from Donna Flora and the gloves are mesh gloves from MiaMai.

This outfit began with the skin, the delicate as a watercolor Song from Shai Delacroix for Skin Fair. The makeup is Japanese in origin and comes with an eyebrow effacing brow layer and several eyebrow tattoo layers for the real drama of a more traditional makeup. However, I did not want to go in the direction, instead showing how its delicacy works even with western wear.
