One of the reasons I love the jewelry at Balderdash so much is that when you zoom in on it, you can find whole new worlds. Take this Bit of Earth Necklace which is lovely and attractive from a distance, but when seen in detail, reveals so much more than you would suppose. Whether you’re zooming in on a pair of earrings and finding some words from a book or tiny shamrocks, the true revelation of Balderdash jewelry is in the fine details. I showed this to a real life friend who was in awe and perhaps, for the first time, really understood the appeal of Second Life fashions. I wore the jewelry with what seems a relatively casual, everyday outfit. Which is what I thought myself, until…
I went to a dance and received so many compliments I was blushing. Clearly, this autumnal look was a hit. I also think folks might have enjoyed the change from all Halloween all the time and something casual, yet chic was the perfect anodyne to the costume extravaganza of the last few weeks. The top is a lovely sweater from E! Eclectic Apparel and the tights and skirt are from The Secret Store. They go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong. By the way, that sweater is only 1 linden and E! is running a huge sale half & half sale, with half the items in the store at half price. Since E!’s specialty is great separates, it’s a good opportunity to stock up on investment pieces that will mix and match and become wardrobe staples.
I shot this photo on the stairs up into the Balderdash store. I confess that every time I go there and land in front of the store, I always look for it on the ground floor first before remembering that I have to go up the stairs. Saiyge Lotus is clearly an art before commerce person or she would land you right in the store. Instead, you have the opportunity to see the stunning beauty of her Oubliette sim. Just don’t get so distracted by the scenery that you forget to go to the store. I am wearing the Nicki Ankle Boots from Baiastice which are quickly becoming a real favorite of mine. I love that they give me the big platform and high stiletto heels while remaining quite feminine in shape and size.
And then there’s the hair from Kavar Cleanslate for Exile. He just outdid himself. I love this hair. Its prims are placed so well that there’s a relatively large range of head positions that look good with the hair despite its length. I love the casual, slight windblown feel of it. The makeup is from Amacci’s new skin line called Jenny. I don’t know. It doesn’t look that much like a Jenny to me. I think it looks like a Cajsa, don’t you?
