I don’t know what ancient arbiter of style first asserted that thou shalt never mix prints, but he was as wrong as two left shoes. Luckily, our generation has gotten over that hoary antique of fashion diktat and moved on to a more exciting and more printastic era. Mixing prints is an art and one well practiced at Peqe as you can see in the lovely little dress that mixes a leopard and lace print. Of course, I had to add to the printasm with floral tights.
Mixing three prints could be a clashtastrophe, but notice what is next to what. You see, the first is mostly black, then mostly white, then mostly black. If the floral were next to the leopard, it would not work.
The Leopard Tight dress from Peqe has all sorts of special details that elevate it above the norm. I thought it a perfect outfit for a night on the town as S I C 49.
The entire look shows confidence, because not everyone is going to challenge that old, antiquated rule – and certainly not with three prints. I added the Bow-Back ankle boots from Baiastice, adding one more trump to the confident look.
For jewelry, I kept the necklace simple, a string of pearls from Armidi, but going bold again with the Glow Studio earrings. The hair is from Dark Mouse and also projects the confident modern look I wanted.
This skin is from Stiletto Moody – one of 21 makeups. Although some of the options do not follow the general advice of going strong on either the eyes or the lips, but not both, many do follow that fairly modern fashion rule. Rita Hayworth, Betty Grable, and all the great beauties of the 40’s and 50’s liked both their eye and lip makeup bold and beautiful. And like all fashion rules, it’s meant to be broken from time to time, by those who dare.
