In case you missed the news, I have been exploring the fresh new hell that is modern medical care. Don’t get me wrong, I am overwhelmed by the compassion and professional care provided by the nurses, doctors and all the staff. Even when I have been “i know you are trying to kill me” paranoid, they have been wonderful. But all the compassion in the world cannot put the lid back on the bug jar when that bizarre combination of real physical pain, the loss of editorial control from pain meds and the psychosis induced by renal failure introduced me to an entire new world. In fact, when I get out I think I have some blockbuster sci-fi stories on file, if I can find some thread of coherence.

Isn’t it just perfect, then, that the last photo shoot before I went into the hospital is atypical of my usual shoot and includes some pics that would totally fit into a couple of my narratives of the last week, like the one where the Dept. of Defense was attempting to do a consciousness transfer of my mind to the man who loves war via Ipod. Ipod??? Go figure. But I am pleased that the DoD was on the side of peace and justice and only hatched their scheme in response to his love of war.

But the next time I read some totally off the wall potboiler or watch some b-movie thriller, I will be pretty sure where they got some of their ideas. Hanging around ICU where people are creating and destroying universes on a daily basis.

OK, my energy is spent and I have not even paid the least bit of attention to fashion details, they are listed at the bottom, though. I do want to take time, now, to thank you for the wonderful im’s you have sent to me inworld. They go to email, so i see them all even if i get capped. It has brought me to tears some days to read the well wishes and concern for me, who for most of you is just a pixel prude with a big mouth. I also want to thank the wonderful new members of the IOF team who have joined in and added their own brand of color, fun, whimsy and joy to It’s Only Fashion. Mostly, though I want to thank Gidge, whose friendship is as solid as any other. I love her wholeheartedly and am constantly rewarded for casting my SL fortunes in with the Vicious Fairy.

I hope you look at the marvelous craftsmanship and skill in these clothes.The AnE pants are awesome, the top from a Zaara dress is molten sex on a chain. The newest skin from PXL Studios is a revelation and I am eager to feel well enough to shoot more of it. I don’t know when that will be. My surgery was the 16th and I was supposed to home a week ago and now they are talking about, with luck, getting discharged at the end of the week to a nursing facility – not to home. Surgery is always a gamble and this time the results have not been as I hoped for, though I trust that in a few more weeks, I will be home.
