Trubble in Mind.
I’m blue,
but I won’t be blue always.
Sun is gonna shine in my backdoor someday.
Did I ever pretend to be above bad puns and shallow word play? No, I did not. Of course, the entire song is a heartbreakingly sad song expressing deep despair – nothing like the light, romantic emotions generated by the lovely, colorful Pandora dress from Tracy Rubble of Trubble, the store name that always sends my brain running down Tin Pun Alley.
This is a happy dress and I went to a happy place to shoot it, the delightful Charlotte’s World on Gana. I also wore happy shoes with it, the lovely Belles from Shiny Things – and in acid green just because I won’t be blue always.
I have mentioned before that there’s a certain serendipity in how jewelry and clothing that complement each other often drop into my inventory at the same time. Well, the same day as this dress, I also received the gorgeous Orquidea Necklace and Earrings from Kunglers and nipped on over to EarthStones to pick up the Limited Edition bracelet in black opal. They are definitely happy to meet each other.
The skin is the new Helen from Amacci and the hair is also a new release – Regina from Hair Solutions. This also gives you a great close-up of the necklace details which are so lovely. As to the song, Trouble in Mind, my favorite versions are by Big Bill Broonzy, Nina Simone and Marianne Faithfull, though Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewios and Janis Joplin are also contenders. It’s a great song and has been covered by many greats including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Sam Cooke.

A sweet dress there. As for songs, how about a bit of the late Nicolette Larson, better known for “Lotta Love,” but she also sang this on her second album (so to speak):
You got Trubble
And it’s tailor made
Ah, mama, lay your head down in the shade
Cause your eyes are tired
And your feet are too
And you wish the world was as tired as you, ooooh-oh
I’m gonna write a letter
And I’ll send it away
And put all the Trubble in it that you had today
